Laulhere Heritage Arnaga French Anglobasque Wool Beret

OK, I purchased a Laulhere Arnaga French Anglobasque Wool Beret in brown, and size 64mm. I have a friggin' big head (American size 7-7/8"). I have purchased others (and they were Laulhere) at 62mm, and all the sizes have been true to fit - at first. The 62mm fit high on the head, which isn't such an issue if I give the beret an angle which adds to style. What happens is, especially after a rain, then the fit does become tighter, and I find myself stretching the beret around the leather hatband when I go to don it. I have to recommend to go to a looser initial fit for any real wool beret. They shrink! It's wool, right?So back to the Arnaga... It's wonderful. The beret is the highest quality. These are still made in France, and Laulhere needs all the help that they can get to compete with YOU KNOW WHO! And when YOU KNOW WHO takes over, I guarantee that what Laulhere has made for the past 100+ years will be gone forever (among many, many other indigenous articles). Like a high quality English, German, Spanish, Italian or European made sporting arm, you can't get any better than this. And speaking of sporting, a beret is the ultimate outdoor pursuit headgear. It can be tucked into any large pocket when it suddenly becomes too much. And more than often, it's just what is needed and there is no large bill to hide the birds. Try that with a Fedora or Stormy Kromer. I love my beret. I't light and warm, and doesn't grab my noggin like a watch cap will. What else is there to explain?

Excellent beret, quality product something from another era. Recall my dad's hats, when men wore hats, were of this same high quality and workmanship. If you buy one be prepared for favorable remarks.
