I will state that I am super happy with this mahjong set. I ordered this for a white elephant gift exchange for a work party, and I will say that this is higher priced then my usual price point for these types of gifts, but I am very happy with it and think the price point is very good for what all you get. I knew that when I ordered this that the tiles were on the smaller side but actually, they are a good size, I do not have any issue making out the design on the tiles which was my main concern. I think I am going to try to win this one back so I can take it back home again, if not then I will be buying it again but for myself.

Nice set! Has the required pieces and some extra ones too. Everything you need if you’re just learning how to play. The instructions leaflet is useless though, and you’re better off watching YouTube videos to learn.

We really like the nice case that came in but there's no instructions how are you supposed to learn how to play the game?

Love this game and these are nice heavy tiles with a nice carry case.

Got this as a Christmas gift for my husband and he still loves playing it, he’s even taught our youngest two to play the game as well. So make it easy for smaller kids to learn the game as well. When not in use I’m able to put it up on a shelf and out of the way!

The carrying case and maybe trays are in very poor shape. The tiles, etc. were all PERFECT and new. The MOLDY case may have been water damaged and/or heavily used.

This set came exactly as described--timely and in perfect condition. The tiles are nice and hefty, as well as beautifully engraved and painted. The great thing about the American mahjong set is that it has the second-most tiles of any region's set (the Vietnamese set has more I think but is harder to acquire, and the Japanese set has tiles that are exclusive to that set--the Red 5s) so you can simply omit the tiles you do not wish to use if you choose to play by another region's rules. As far as I am concerned, there is one minor negative to this particular package, though you may not consider it a negative at all. The carrying case for the game is made of a thin cardboard with faux reptile skin affixed to the outside. When carrying the full set by just the case's carrying handle, it feels like it could come apart, as it is fastened closed by two snap buttons on either side of the handle. I would suggest carrying this set like a tray with both hands as opposed to solely the carrying handle and you will be more secure with it. This is a great purchase to get into mahjong and is inexpensive compared to pretty much any other set that you can find. The carrying case is also rather handy for travel despite my critique.

The tiles with professional carrying case has my friend excited to learn mahjong. The tiles are beautiful traditional tiles to assist with the ease of learning and the case came with instructions on how to play. The set is beautiful and functional. My friend couldn't stop running her hands over the tiles because the tiles were smooth and "pretty ". This a great gift. I appreciate the slim case allows for storage in or on a shelf.

Love the 166 tiles, exquisite paint, true to size listed 1.2" tall, nice click to em, 8 jokers, 4 blanks, great quality, has all the characters, bams, dragons, flowers, winds. Excellent quality tiles which is why I got this set. don't like carrying case a bit flimsy design, not too secure, the closing snaps are on the bottom & where the case opens, the handle on opposite side, if those snaps open while carrying the tiles are falling out everywhere, very odd place to put snaps, they should be beside the handle. and wind indicator cheap plastic doesn't turn good. Manual is ok, lots of typos but still understandable. It came right on time kudos to seller, For $62 it's a great buy, can always get a bag that I like. After all the research, I noticed if u buy a set w. a great case the tiles are cheap or not the right size, or is missing tiles, a great set of tiles like this is more expensive so it's worth buying another case. Just what I ordered Nice set

Set was complete and well made except for the carrying case which is made from materials that will not stand up to heavy usage. The game materials were very well constructed and should last for many years with heavy usage.

Tiles are fine, carrying case is very poor quality
