1) Passes the burn test = Actual silk *I only tested the white standard and queen, other colors may differ.* I teased out a strand of the silk and it does indeed pass the burn test showing that it is not polyester or other synthetic but actually silk. If you didn't know, when exposed to flame or heat synthetic materials ball up into melted plastic and smell like... burning plastic. yum. Natural materials like silk and cotton burn and smell like burnt hair or paper and If you can replicate this result you have real silk. The white standard and queen passed the test. 2) Sizing is exact Some pillow cases have some give, these are zippered and exactly the size stated. I couldn't zip the standard over my queen pillowcase and the queen fits perfectly snug. This is actually very nice as I can tell who's pillowcase is whose and there is not slack. But double check you pillows' actual length before ordering or it might not fit. They do not shrink or stretch. 3) Good quality I've had these a month or so, and they feel cool and soft on my skin. Our hair doesn't seem as frizzy either which was the main reason for purchase. I wash by hand in a small plastic storage container (~4l or 1 gal) using warm water and regular detergent, then hand to dry from a hanger using clothespins. They feel exactly like new after a few washes. 4) Might stain easily Silk being silk it may take up stains more than you are used to with synthetics. This is simply a fact of the properties of silk, not this specific product. You also can't bleach these so stains are just part of their character. My partner had sharpie on his hand when he went to bed and there is a shopping list tattooed on his pillow now! :) Functionality is unaffected, but it you are buying for a guest room it may be a factor.

Wow do I love this case= super soft, but quality enough to be sturdy if that makes sense. It is cool, comfortable, soft and easier on skin and hair. I won't use anything else now.

Great pillow case. Very smooth and cool to the touch. Very slippery so it good they zipper up. They are supposed to be very good for your and skin. I can why. I bought these and some micro fiber pillow cases to see the difference. Appearance wiz it's very very difficult to tell them apart, except for the microfiber ones don't have a zipper. The feel is almost exactly the same as the silk. But the big difference is the micro fiber one get warm when you use them. They are not cool like the silk pillow case. The micro fiber ones are considerably cheaper, but I still prefer the silk, mainly for the feel and cooling effect they have.

Love these silk pillowcases. A turnstile purchase: once you sleep on silk, you don't want to go back to anything else. Super soft on face and hair and always has that "cold pillow" advantage. Better for skin, less static in hair, feels luxurious. Easy to handwash in sink or shower and it dries very fast--especially if I hang it near a fan or vent (sometimes dry within 10 minutes), so easy to travel with. Bought an extra one to make a sleep tank top with and several others for gifts when they were on sale.

Thought I was getting two of these for my king bed, but nope - just one! The quality was nice, and it's definitely silk. But order TWO!
