Simple yet sturdy construction and dangerously razor-sharp right out of the box
This is my first sashimi-type knife purchase for use in a professional kitchen. I wanted a solid knife and I think I got one for the price. Simple yet sturdy construction and dangerously razor-sharp right out of the box. Was able to cut through fish like butter. Even through tough, sinewy bits. Was able to slide right through seared cuts of tuna for clean and unblemished slices. Would probably recommend it as a good starter knife if you are not looking to pay too much. Again, likely not the best knife out there...but FOR THE PRICE I believe it is well worth it.

Good knife for every day use.
I was looking for a knife I could use and my daily sashimi knife in home. This one is being great. Sharp and easy to maintain, its a good option if you cook for hobbie and want a knife to nicely slice your fish.

Terrific, but requires serious sharpening out of the box
I love the heft and quality of the steel in the knife. For the price it was a steal! However, to use it properly, a "uraoshi" sharpening on the concave side is required, to avoid chipping when filleting fish. Once I had it properly sharpened, which took about 45 minutes through a progression of 5 stones, it was absolutely wonderful, and the edge has been quite durable through nearly three years of use. Keep in mind that a Deba is a very specialized knife, but it does the job it is designed for quite well.

Perfect!
Very sharp, and a nice feel to it. I was afraid it would feel plasticy and cheap, but not at all! Nice weight to the handle, and the blade practically falls right through the food.

Good for the price
Cheap knife. Gets the job done. Dulls fast.

Great versatile everyday knife
Great quality knife. It's become one of my go to knives and unlike my other high carbon knives I don't have to worry about acidic things or washing and drying it right way.

Great knife, good value
Great knife, good value. Has 4mm thick blade so it has a heavy feel. Back is concave ground just like on more expensive knives. Handle shape is a bit unusual but comfortable to hold. A bit like an octagon shape but with the top rounded off. The maker does not state what type of steel is used and this would be useful information to buyers.
