amazing technology that provides clear, crisp, excellently reproduced video in an ingenious 360 format up to 8K resolution.... when you consider all of the things this tiny device can do, the price tag while not cheap, is certainly reasonable. we picked this thing up and took it overseas and within a couple of hours we were making our own videos and exploring different ways of creating content. the device is of very high quality and feels very solid in your hand despite its size. the extending stick in this bundle is also extremely well made and gives the user confidence that it's going to perform without fail. we also purchased a more rugged case to carry the camera in to protect its lenses and we are off and running.. we do a lot of motorcycle riding / hiking/walking in the cities and doing all sorts of stuff in our travels.. this is going to be a great piece of equipment to bring along for the ride.

I am updating my review to reflect both the outstanding customer service I received and my evolving experience with the camera. Regarding the Invisible Cold Shoe: it is indeed designed specifically for Rode mics. While the info was technically there, I believe it wasn't prominent enough for a quick purchase. After sharing this, the Insta360 team (shoutout to Eddie) took my feedback seriously and confirmed they would update the product description to make this clearer for the community. Despite the initial confusion, the support team reached out with a genuine solution. They even sent a complimentary gift to me in Holland, managing the international logistics perfectly since I wasn't in the US at the time. This level of dedication to customer satisfaction is world-class. Performance & Learning Curve: I’ll be honest—the learning curve for both the hardware and the app is real. It takes some time to get used to the workflow. However, now that I’ve spent more time with it, the results are incredible. I’m capturing amazing shots that simply wouldn't be possible with other gear. Yes, it requires some patience to master, and you should double-check specific accessory compatibility, but the output quality and the support team behind the product make it 100% worth it. Huge thanks to Eddie and the entire team for turning a frustrated buyer into a very happy creator!

Brand new user and had no trouble learning the software. This cam is amazing and clear. Add the 10' stick and you have a drone shot that follows you everywhere. The new firmware update added some even greater tools that I wash i had for my first trip but now it's game on.

I love it! Absolutely worth it if you do any action sports or even just vacations and traveling. Videos are crisp 4k and editing is super easy. I’m a complete new creator and I figured it out quick. It even has a AI edit that does a great job editing videos itself. Battery does drain fast like a hour or so. It’s a really high tech piece of kit with a lot of features like star lapse and time shift. I takes videos of me riding on my electric unicycle and hyper scooter and makes them highly dynamic with really sweet angles and great sense of speed. A+ piece of kit.

I love this camera! The video quality is outstanding, and the BMW edition looks awesome. The mobile app is easy to use, though the Insta360 Studio app still doesn’t support ARM64 on Windows. Overall, a fantastic experience!

If you are reading this review, you already know you are going to buy this great camera. I was basically waiting for a good price and I am a proud owner now. There is a learning curve for learning to film and edit, but it's so much fun to watch the finished videos that you really don't mind. I have been lucky enough to meet some other great content creators and I am learning more from them and my X5 every day.

What an amazing 360 camera! I leave my GoPro at home now. This has been amazing for motorcycle trips. I can't wait till they increase the resolution/frame rate a bit. It's great, but I'm ready for something a bit better. For a motorcycle, you need a minimum of 60fps, so you're stuck with the 5.7+. It's great, but could be better.

I cant believe how good the Insta360 X5 Essentials Bundle is. I thought it would just be a fun toy but it ended up replacing almost every other camera I own. The stabilization is crazy good. I walked, ran, even held it out the car window and the video still came out looking smooth like I was floating. The 360 footage looks sharp and the colors are way better than I expected. The bundle has everything you need so I was filming in minutes. The app is pretty easy to use and the AI edits are actually helpful. Battery life has been fine for me and the camera feels solid in the hand. I like that the lenses are replaceable too because I do stupid things sometimes and this gives me peace of mind.

Les détails sont nets et précis, les couleurs vives, ce qui rend les images vraiment réussies. Les vidéos sont de très bonne qualité et l’application est simple et intuitive, parfaite pour du vlog, ou même des vidéos TikTok liées à votre activité. 🌙 Utilisation de nuit Le mode “Pure Vidéo” est indispensable : sans lui, la qualité n’est clairement pas au rendez-vous. Les photos restent correctes, sans être exceptionnelles. L’utilisation de l’IA améliore toutefois le rendu et, avec un peu de post-production, il est possible d’obtenir un résultat encore meilleur. 🎒 Accessoires & défauts Petit point négatif concernant l’étui de protection, que je trouve trop petit. Il est difficile d’y ranger la caméra avec les batteries et protections sans risquer de les abîmer. Je conseille donc de transporter les batteries séparément. De plus, la perche ne tient pas toujours très bien malgré son grip, ce qui ne me rassure pas totalement sans la placer dans un sac. ✅ Conclusion Malgré ces petits défauts, je recommande clairement cette caméra plutôt que certains modèles concurrents. Elle est simple d’utilisation, polyvalente et offre une très bonne qualité globale.

Purchased this for a ski holiday as I liked the look of the 360 having used gopro for 10+ years, selfie stick did have production issue however I have since been contacted by insta360 support at Amazon and cannot say how helpful and kind they have been in rectifying the issue keeping me updated at all times , back filming now with new stick and very happy

Als Hobby Fotograf habe ich auch schon mit einigen Action-Cams experimentiert. Ich liebäugelte aber schon einige Zeit mit einer 360° Kamera, mit dem Erscheinen der X5 war es dann soweit. Wie sind meine Erfahrungen nach den ersten Tagen und Versuchen: Nach dem Auspacken zeigt sich eine Kamera, die qualitativ hochklassig wirkt und durchaus ein wenig Gewicht mitbringt. Bei der Kamera stehen die Linsen deutlich heraus, was diese durchaus anfällig für Kratzer macht. Insta360, bietet aber Ersatzlinsen an, so dass sich diese selber tauschen und sich damit teure Reparaturen vermeiden lassen. Die Bildqualität bei guten Lichtverhältnissen zeigt knackscharfe Ergebnisse die wirklich überzeugen können. Und bei schlechtem Licht? LowLight ist bei Kameras dieser Klasse oft ein absoluter Schwachpunkt. Bei genauerer Betrachtung und in der Nachbearbeitung war ich erstaunt über die guten Ergebnisse. Die X5 liefert hier echt ab. Insta360 beschreibt das Verfahren als "PureVideo". Hier greift die KI der Kamera ordentlich ins Geschehen ein, das Ergebnis überzeugt. Die Tonqualität der X5 ist ebenfalls bemerkenswert, die Windgeräuschunterdrückung liefert tolle Ergebnisse. Möchte man in die Welt der 360° Aufnahmen einsteigen, ist ein Selfie-Stick absolut zu empfehlen (für mich ein Muss). Der Stick befindet sich dann in der "Stitching-Zone" der Kamera, wird rausgerechnet und ist in den Aufnahmen nicht mehr sichtbar. Je länger der verwendete Stick ist, um so krassere Aufnahmen lassen sich realisieren. Die Nachbearbeitung von 360° Aufnahmen ist obligatorisch und ein "Reframing" ist Pflicht, dafür lassen sich tolle Ergebnisse erzielen. Um genug Auflösung für einen Export zu haben empfehle ich die Aufzeichnung in 8K. Die eingestellte Auflösung bezieht sich immer auf die komplette aufgenommene Kugel. Bei Ansteuerung einer Linse ist die erzielbare Auflösung 4K, die X5 arbeitet dann wie eine typische Action-Cam. Fürs Nachbearbeiten nutze ich das Insta360 Studio auf dem Mac, ich finde den Umgang einfacher als mit der Smartphone-App. Die App bietet diese Möglichkeit grundsätzlich aber auch. Alternativ kann man den sogenannten INSTAFRAME-MODUS nutzen, hier werden ein "flaches" und ein 360° Video gleichzeitig aufgenommen, limitiert ist hierbei aber die Auflösung auf 5,7K für 360° Ich nutze aber lieber die volle Auflösung und bearbeite die Aufnahme. Mein Fazit: Eine beeindruckende Kamera die tolle Ergebnisse liefert. Wenn eine 360° Kamera dann würde ich aktuell wieder zur X5 greifen.
