Good glasses. I cut my finger on the packaging while opening it. Be careful. The cardboard is like a knife - thin, stiff, and apparently, sharp.

Ok, hear me out on this one: Plastic is gross for all kinds of reasons. Silicone absorbs odors and dishwasher detergent. Glass, though. Glass is used in labs for a reason. So yes, my toddler drinks out of these *glass* cups and we absolutely love them. They're the perfect size. They're stable and easy to grip. And when she does eventually break one of her Duralex glasses or dishes (yup, we use those, too), it should break like a car windshield instead of exploding like Pyrex or her old borosilicate glass Avent bottles. I'm not looking forward to testing that theory, mind you, but so far? We love these glasses!

Ever since I was a child in Italy these wonderful glasses have been part of m life. I was delighted to find them on Amazon. My mother had several different sizes that were used everyday because... "it's tempered glass" ... "they do not break" ... and she might drop one on the hard floor to demonstrate this prodigy. The ones I received are slightly smaller and the glass is not as thick as the ones I still have, but they sparkle more, probably because they are brand new. Although I do believe that they do not break, I would not dare to throw one on my kitchen floor. My grandson, who is an interior designer, chose classical Duralex Picardie as his personal drinking glasses. I gave to him as antiques the really small ones that my mom had given to me when I came to the US in 1960: those delightfully small ones go back to the 1930s. They first entered my family before I was born. What more could one expect from such everyday items that become antiques because they are so durable?
