Thought I would test not just the weighing capacity, but also how robust it is, put 2x 12kg Eukanuba bags piled on top of each other, not a single issue and weight accuracy was spot on, very impressed. I thought my kitchen scales would be OK for weighing my new born pups they were not. Pups wriggle far too much for them t o give an accurate weight. These have a large flat platform and a hold button, making weighing pups much easier.

No instructions included! However, assembling it wasn't too difficult, but getting it to register *anything at all* seemed impossible at first; eventually I discovered it would give a readout *after* I'd stepped off the scales! Whilst I was still standing on them, nothing at all - just a blue flicker: no digits.Try finding a single piece of totally flat, hard floor in an old cottage! Eventually I found one tile, only one, in the bathroom, that connected with all four feet - but even then, I didn't get a readout when I was standing on the scales.I haven't tried weighing my cat yet (the reason I bought these scales) so I'll add more comments once I've done that. So far... pretty underwhelmed.Amending this to add a star (rather grudgingly) and to say - scales finally gave a readout, when I stood on them the other way round. In other words - so that the readout was upside-down! Given that the readout is meant to be seen below the included tray, when weighing a baby or a pet, I guess it's not an actual design fault. However, there should be some mechanism which reverses the digital readout when a human is standing on the scales, so one doesn't have to read it upside-down. Still somewhat underwhelmed - given the price - but I won't be returning them, at least.

Arriving well packaged in three pieces, the weighing trays clips together and can then be slotted into the weighing device. Initially I was going to ditch the packaging but is useful to keep it safe, the pieces slotting easily into the handle provided package. Five kilogram miniature dogs and new born puppies can be weighed accurately and the hold button (centre) is useful if you have a mobile dog! Seemed a lot of money initially, it is has proved itself worht every penny (especially in the light of 'cheaper' models which did not do very much that they said they capable of achieving. A really good bit of kit.

I needed to monitor the weight of my diabetic cat… I was surprised at how reasonably priced these are for the quality. We have 9 cats so no doubt these will get a lot of use. Very accurate and easy to set up and ideal size to store when not in use

For the money not worth it, worked ok to start with but after a short while just over a month stopped working

Despite saying it is suitable for small pets, it isn't. It tips up with my 3kg cat on it making it unusable unless your cat stays motionless and balances their body weight exactly in the middle. Should be fine for baby's due to the lower centre of gravity. Returned for a refund

Purchased to monitor the weight of a 5 kg cat, who strongly resents being handled. Previously used bathroom scales and subtracted my weight from our combined weight which left an uncertainty of +/-0.2 kg.These scales are easy to use and are accurate when compared to 40 year old kitchen scales. However; when the cat walks onto these scales with front paws then moves forward to get his rear paws on, the scales tip up, the cat is spooked and refuses to step on again.This is a poor design, as the scales are very light and the support feet (load cells) are well inboard from the ends of the weighing pan, hence instability while the cat is positioned.The cat walks onto similar sized scales at the vets, without problems as they are heavier and the support feet are under the corners of the weighing tray which prevents tipping.My initial solution is to place the cat in a cat carrier, and subtract the cat carrier weight from the total. However; the weight display is obscured by the large cat carrier.Glueing a larger & heavier base to the existing feet may be a solution but would void the warranty. Uncertain whether to return the scales at this point,Overall: A good quality item let down by poor design when used for weighing an active cat.
