Excellent option for daily use!
Got this machine hooked up to a water supply and a drain about a month ago. Thought it would be great for all the holiday entertaining this month, but sadly, with only minimal use over the last month, maybe 8 days worth, the water pump stopped working all together. If we get some help, we’ll update this rating, as the ice it produced in its short life was excellent.**UPDATED** Excellent customer service and assistance with the issue. The “replacement” unit has been working and we are highly satisfied with it! The ice produced is of good quality and quick output. We use often to fill up lunch boxes and water bottles, remaining ice stays cold for quite a while. Though this unit isn’t a freezer, when we turn it off at night, unused ice from the previous day will still be available in the reservoir the next morning.

A fantastic ice maker. Makes soooooo much ice.
replaced an older RCA ice maker.. Um this is a different ball game than those 100.00 ice makers. First of all it makes like 100lbs of ice a day. I let my neighbors get ice for their drinks every day to just keep up with the ice. It makes only one size cube but you can choose how dense of a cube you want as well. Hold a bunch of ice and as well as a water inlet you can manually add water to it as well. You just need to a little pin to switch the auto setting to manual. Stores a ton of ice and is well insulated as well. Only problem I have with this maker is I for the life of me cant get it to make singular cubes to drop they drop in a solid piece that easily breaks into cubes. I do like the light though to peek in at night to see how much ice is made.

not worth the money
I should have waited to buy it until I finished the cabinets in the room I built where I was putting it. I finally took it out of the box a couple of days ago and within 18 hours of hooking it up it will no longer produce ice. And I waited until after the return window had closed to hook it up. That's my fault, so I don't expect a refund or exchange. But, you should know what you're getting. Apparently a refrigerant leak. If I can ever get hold of anyone and they help me out I will update this to include their helpfulness.

Great little machine. Very impressed.
This is a great ice maker!!!! It pumps out lots of ice. I've had it for 2 days now and I'm very very pleased with it. Filled a large cooler of ice.Only drawback is getting the ice out of the machine. The provided scoop is junk, plastic and small. I use a plastic cereal bowl to get the ice out and into a cooler. And you need to babysit this. It makes a lot of ice in blocks and doesnt break apart when it falls so the ice piles up to the top and the machine thinks the hopper is full. You will need to transfer ice (I take the sheets out and smash them into my cooler) or break them up with a heavy item.

Great ice maker for the price.
I purchased this unit for my hubby for Father’s Day. We are a large, active family and our refrigerator ice machine just wasn’t cutting it. I read all of the reviews and info before purchasing so I knew exactly what I was getting for the price. Here are a few good and bad things about this unit.PROS--it makes enough ice to fill up a 30oz Yeti cup every 8-10 minutes.-We like the size of the ice (Smaller cubes) as it will fit in my kids’ sports water bottles.- It is very quiet- Unit is easy to use, directions are easy to follow and buttons are clearly labeled.- It is a great size for the amount of ice it puts out.- It is self cleaning.-You can hook it up to a main water line or fill it as you go.CONS--The biggest issue is that it is not a freezer and does not store ice. It does come with a drain tube that we connected to and outside line. You can store the ice in a freezer or just allow it to melt through the drain line. And, you can always just turn the unit off while out of town or when you don’t plan on using it.- The water source line that comes with the unit is very cheap. After a few trips to Home Depot, my hubby finally got it hooked up to our kitchen sink so that it automatically fills with water.- The ice is cubed and tends to stick together but using a decent ice scoop seemed to fix that problem.-The ice scoop that comes with the unit is ridiculously small and useless.- You can not remove the ice storage to fill coolers. You have to scoop the ice.All in all, it’s a pretty good unit for the price. I’ve seen some reviews stating that the machine stopped working after a couple of years but for our family, 2 years of buying ice everyday at the gas station is way more costly than this ice maker.

Purchased for RV camping.
I was concerned with being able to use this outdoors for RV camping. Product description say for indoor use. Used it this weekend with temps in low 90s. It made ice as expected and kept it cold enough to refill our ice chests. Over Friday night through Sunday morning, we refilled 3 average ice chests twice each. We kept it in the shade for the most part and ice held up pretty well. Overall we are very pleased with our first experience.Using a dual valve to split the water source, I attached the splitter behind a pressure reducer used to keep from bursting camper plumbing. I also used a inline water filter to eliminate any impurities and improve water taste. This arrangement worked well
