A nice idea
Nice idea, but the pictures and stories are a bit childish for the level of maths being taught. That's not to say it's bad, it's not, the artwork is excellent. But as I found, children who are learning about circles tend to be offended that they're being given a younger childrens book to read, and that detracted from the maths.Perhaps I used it too late, perhaps it's a good introduction to younger children who aren't yet learning this level of maths at school, just to prepare them.

Great for home and school!
As a secondary school maths teacher this was a great buy for my year sevens and low level year eight sets, they loved the story as an alternative to regular lessons. My own children (aged 7 & 8) loved it too!

my son loves this book
This story has become my son's favourite, not only a good 'educational story' but its a very nice approach to learning some basic geometry, fractions (halves etc)...He wants me to get some of the other Sir Cumference books, which I certainly will!
