Perfect for winterizing power equipment!
Bought this to transfer gas from snowblower to mower as the seasons change. Works exactly as well as I'd hoped. One note: While this is glass and won't spark when contacting metal (gasoline and sparks don't play well together), BE VERY CAREFUL. Broken glass in a small motor gas tank would be pretty annoying.1. Squeeze the bulb to empty the air.2. Insert tip into tank/gas and release the pressure on the bulb.3. You'll see the gas/fluid make it's way up the baster glass.4. Pull baster out far enough to get the tip of your finger over the opening, stopping the gas/fluid from leaking out while you move it to the destination tank.5. Put baster in destination tank and squeeze until empty.6. Repeat until all gas is moved from one tank to another.Shipped and arrived VERY fast. Excellent price mark and is easy to clean and store because of it's size. Highly recommended.

norpro glass baster doubles as aquarium spot cleaner
i use this baster to do precision cleaning in my angelfish fry aquarium. i've tried airline tubing, which can be tough because of the need for using your other hand to control the flow of water being siphoned. i had a small dropper that i was using and it worked really well, but i had to put my entire hand into the tank and would come out soaking and dripping all over.this baster is long enough to reach the bottom of my 10-gallon tank without dunking my hand in halfway up to the elbow. it has a large enough bulb to suck out a good amount of water in each pull. the tip inner diameter is narrow enough (maybe 3-4mm) to get into small areas and do some real good spot cleaning. also, being made of glass, i'm not concerned with the leaching of chemicals into the water.this product would also make a great turkey baster too, i'm sure :)

Great glass baster
This product is great - but not perfect. The suction could be a little better, but I understand it may be hard to get a tight seal on slick glass. It cleans well but the key is that you plug the bottom and immediately fill it with a drop of soap and hot water, swirl and flush to premise before any grease settles in. We put the glass piece in the silverware caddy of the dishwasher, and the top goes on the top rack over one of the dishwasher spikes. Heated dry hasn't affected performance. Overall, does that job (we use to get the grease when browning meat) well and we'd repurchase immediately if ours broke.

Well made glass baster
I love the glass baster, one piece construction and the draw bulb is made for heavy rubber. It washes well in the sink and air dries in minutes. It has decent suction for drawing but does drip a little so be ready for spills.

Shipper packed it improperly/Easy cleaning tip
Star rating is for baster, no how it was shipped. This baster is glass. The item was in its original thin box packaging. Then the shipper put it in a loose bubble wrap bag...no air bags inside it to protect it. The baster's box was crushed inside when I opened it, but luckily the baster was not broken. I suggest you ship it to people in a sturdy box, not a bag. This is my second baster. The first one arrived in a sturdy box. A family member just loved the glass baster at Thanksgiving so I bought her one. We are giving kitchen items this year and I am grateful this one arrived all in one piece and on time for Christmas. A standard bottle brush won't fit inside for cleaning, so I used dishwashing soap and a plastic drinking straw and the baster came out clean!

Glass
I wanted a glass baster! The plastic ones are lousy and sometimes crack.
