Works Amazingly Well
Fits perfectly in my .5mm pencils. Lead doesn’t smudge easily and is sturdy enough that it doesn’t break easily.

better than more expensive pentel leads
More expensive options are not as dark for the same level!

Perfect slightly harder lead
Wanted something a bit harder than HB in bulk for drawing. HB is smooth, but would smudge in my sketchbooks. This is perfect, and the bulk pack and pricing are nice.

Smooth, dark lead ♥ If only it lasted longer!
I recently ordered a pair of Pentel Graphgear 1000s, which came with standard HB lead.A number of other reviewers recommended Pentel's 2B lead for a darker, easier to write experience. I tend to press rather hard on the paper, so anything to relieve hand strain is good. This lead is very smooth, and much darker than Pentel's HB. It creates a very easy-to-see line with no lead smuge. Combined with the Pentel 1000 Graphgear makes an (almost) perfect writing experience; writing smothness is very enjoyable. My one any only complaint is that this lead wears down quicker than the HB. Being a softer lead, that only makes sense. Overall, I'm very happy with the 2B and will definitely buy another box when this one runs out (in a few years or so).

Its nice to get so many pieces so as not to have to reorder quickly. This works well!

Best of Breed
As a user of mechanical pencils for over 30 years, I have yet to see a company produce more consistent and outstanding mechanical lead than Pentel. Although Pilot produced a lead in years past which was also excellent (Neo-X), it has all but disappeared from the US Market. However, Pentel's vast R&D in mechanical pencil lead is unsurpassed and the results speak for themselves. The quality is first rate and the writing experience is unsurpassed. I highly recommend 2B lead for super dark smooth writing. Note that the "Super-Hi Polymer" lead sold in the US is the same as the "AIN" version sold overseas. Great when paired with the Pentel Sharp Kerry or Graphgear 1000. More expensive for sure than the local big box made in China product, but well worth it.

Good enough if your not an artist…?
I bought this to use for school and it has been great. Plenty of shadow lines with CAD so it’s nice to have.

False advertisement
This is a listing for 1 package of 12 pencils leads, not a package containing 12 x 12 leads. Completely misleading image and description

Buying it cheap is worth it 100%
I bought this when it was like $0.99 or $1.99, so it was super worth it. Actually, I think I bought 2 of them back then and I have 1 pack still untouched. I'm still not finished the pack I currently have. I share with my siblings too. It's been maybe 3 years and we still haven't gone through them. We each use about 1 tube of lead per year, minus other freebees people give out to us, which certainly helped extend the life of the pack I'm currently going through. They're certainly great quality, especially given what I paid for them. Its current price is around $14, which I'm not going to buy because I don't need more. Maybe I'd buy another pack if they went back to $1 or $2, but for now, definitely not.
