Works
I ordered this water distillation machine to purify the nasty soft municipal tapwater I have in my apartment. It works really well! The process takes less than 4 hours, which is nice, and leaves a very tasty water. The fan on the machine does shut off once the water tank is empty, but the machine itself stays on. I know, it's a little confusing. The solidified salts left over inside the tank are easy enough to clean. I've just been using tap water and some soap. It comes clean very easily. I have no complaints. Now, the glass container that the clean water pours into is a nice heavy glass, but the handle is rather flimsy. The metal straps don't fit tightly around the glass at all so it's rather loose when using the plastic handle. I use both hands when lifting it just to be on the safe side. There is a cap for connecting to the distiller spout and another for covering the opening in the lid after. They are ok and fit sort of. This is not a pitcher at all. The stainless steel lid can be difficult to get off at times, and the caps just sort of rest on top of the lid (as opposed to fitting/locking onto the lid). There isn't a pour spout on the glass container so it's just an open hole in the lid. I usually pour mine into a separate dispenser I already had to make storage easier for myself.

Good Unit
I’ve been using this pretty much daily since getting it, almost a month ago. It takes about 3-4 hours for the gallon of water to distill. One of the things I read after purchasing was that it does not automatically shut off. I had hope torun it every night and have the water by morning. So I carefully monitored it through the day or evening and would shut it off. Then, to my delight or perhaps I should be concerned, I noticed it was shutting off by itself at the end of a cycle. The switch stays on, but the unit stops. I simply have to push the reset button for the next load. Not sure if that is an issue or not, but seems ok so far. I still don’t leave it overnight to run yet. It pulls a ton of lime scale out of our hard water. I normally need to vinegar my teapot at least every two weeks if not more and I have not had one inth of lime scale in the teapot since using the distilled water from this unit. The fan is not too noisy, I can hear it though from another room. (We have no walls in between living spaces.). But the fan is not disruptive to conversation and such. I think it’s a good value for the nice pure water and the large amount it produces at one time.

Good product
Nicely packaged, easy to put together and good instructions. Not loud at all while running. I have hard water that makes things tough to clean so this is perfect for getting the water I need for my humidifier and plants

Don't buy. It doesn't last long before it starts leaking.
I use it a lot for my drinking water and plant water and humidifier water. I keep it clean and it does a great job. Takes about 4-1/2 hours to complete a gallon.UPDATE: Less than 10 months old and it has developed a leak around the upper seal. Half the water now leaks out. Makes a big mess. I can't find any warranties. Contacted seller directly and they basically told me "too bad". No replacement seal and no way to fix it. A $100 piece of garbage. Recent Update: After going back and forth with them and mentioning that a new seal would probably fix it they offered to sell me one for 4x the amount of replacements available on Amazon.I WOULD NOT BUY THIS AGAIN.

THIS DISTILLER IS ALL ANYONE NEEDS (UNLESS THEY HAVE A FAMILY)
This is my third countertop water distiller, not including the two I gave to my children. The second distiller still works - after three years! The first one was stolen, but probably still would be working, albeit a little more slowly, as that seems to me how they show their age.I appreciate that it is 750 watts, not 900, and the speed of distillation is not affected. I have not experienced any issues with blowing a circuit breaker at all, even with two other small appliances on the same line.I distill two gallons of water daily, and have since 2018, thus I feel confident that this distiller is all anyone needs, unless they have a large family. Easy to clean, quiet, affordable, and the handle on the top unity makes removing it very easy!I included a photo of the residue after the first use to show why distilling water is a must for everyone! Our bodies were designed for pure H2O. Not chemicalized and mineralized water. Get your minerals from your foods so that your organs are delivered pure water. Don't make your organs be filters, which reduces their efficiency and lifetime!Shipping was fast, packed securely. Thank you!

I'm happy with the distiller.
The distiller was pretty easy to put together, following the instructions.I used filtered water from my LifeStraw filter bottle which I keep on my counter next to the sink and am constantly filling that, pouring it into other containers and store it the fridge. And it did take about 4 hours to make quite a bit of water. No leaking; everything went smooth. I drank a glass of it and it was so good.I'm shorter than 5', and 107 lbs., so I had to sterilize a ladle to get the water into another sterilized 1/2 gal. bottle. No way could I safely pick up that heavy bottle full of water and store it in the fridge. Half full, yes, then I could pick it up and I placed it in my fridge.I don't have the time to do this on a regular basis. Really wanted it for my diy mouth wash as I hated buying the distilled water in plastic. I'll probably drink some too. Never realized in all my 89 years, the day would come when I had to worry about the junk in tap water. My only concern is a brownish staining on the bottom of the pot after the distillation. Maybe a sos pad would clean it up, but following the instructions, I didn't want to go there. I'll read the reviews to see how others are cleaning the pot.The distiller is a very good idea if you're worried about the quality of your tap water.
