Understanding Geometry Workbook - Bridging the Gap Between Computation and Mathematical Reasoning (Grades 7-9)

Excellent prep for high school
I used this book to teach my daughter in homeschool in sixth grade. She struggled with bits of it here and there but eventually figured it out, with my “voice over” explanations. Fast forward three years. She has since completed algebra 1 and is now taking high school geometry with an “actual” (non-parent) teacher. She says that this book set her up so that the “real” geometry class is a breeze. Essentially, even though her honors-level high school geometry class goes a little more in depth and covers a few additional concepts, it feels largely like a “review” of what she studied in this book a few years ago. And she has a near 100% average in her current class. Wow! This book worked as advertised. Thank you!

Great Value
Great overview of middle school geometry. Does not include trig functions (e.g. cosine), but does include constructions and simple proofs. I especially like that there is a bit more than just a rule to memorize-students are encouraged to do activities to better understand many concepts (i.e. cutting the corners off of a triangle and placing them on a line to demonstrate that they equal 180 degrees).

New favourite in a pile
Ordered this book for a future 8th grader who just got interested in geometry. He loves it, no more algebra😆
