These were simple to install. Start to finish, I think I completed the job in 25 minutes, and that included putting my tools away. They work exactly as advertised. QUICK TIP: for safety, either put 2 braces up in case one slips, or pull into garage and tie your hatch to something overhead to prevent it from falling on your head when you work on it. I ended up running a couple of pieces of 550 parachute cord over my garage door support rail, just to be safe. The hatches on the old Land Cruisers are heavier than you might think. The punchline is these do the job they are supposed to do, and are a reasonable price. The weather has turned colder now, and that is usually when these things start to lose their ability to lift. The Tuff Support lifts are working perfectly,and my old FJ62 hatch stays up like it did when it was new.

I bought these to replace my 35 year old struts on my FJ60 hatch. I was dismayed to discover they were not strong enough to lift the hatch fully. I tried a second set, and had the same lackluster results. I actually put my originals back on, and they actually did the job better, though they are also worn.

These work and fit great on the 1987 Land cruiser my husband is working on!
