Yes. But less than other brands of similar soap because we use something called Soyethyl Morpholinium Ethosulfate (an organic soy-derived natural odor control) mixed into the formulation. Still, the soap smells like sulfur. Olfactory receptors are present in specialized sensory cells called olfactory sensory neurons, which line our noses. They’re responsible for detecting molecules in our surroundings and sending messages to our brain so that we can recognize and label a smell. Mammalian survival depends on ultrasensitive olfactory detection of volatile sulfur compounds (thiol sensitivity, since these compounds can signal the presence of rancid food, O2 depleted atmospheres, and predators (through carnivore excretions). Folks that have "copper or silver ions" in their noise mucus have an amplified sensitivity to sulfur - a receptor called OR2T11 is activated in the presence of both copper and silver. Nasal mucus was known to contain divalent metal ions, but their role in olfaction was under discussion until 2016 when this new science was discovered. Folks that don't have the copper or silver ions (or less of them) in their mucus have diminished smell of sulfur. How the soap smells depends on on the individual and these tiny metal ions. Everyone smells differently.
