Great project for boys or girls
This beginner needlepoint kit is a great project for boys or girls ages 6+. I got this for my grandson, who is age 7, and he loved it and made it as a gift for a sibling. The kit has everything included except for scissors. This teaches persistence, patience, focus, and pride in accomplishment. We started with me sitting right with him and directing every stitch, then on the second session, he did more by himself, but with me right there to help. by the third /last session, I was sitting nearby, but he did everything himself. The key is to listen to the child and provide encouragement and rest. Don't push to get everything done fast. Also, if there is a mistake, just say that it is normal to make mistakes when learning, undo the work gently, and start over. My grandson was so proud of his work, and he did a great job.

Overall ok for the price
The main color of the yarn that came with the kit was a different color than pictured but still worked for our purpose. Needle flimsy and bent but did not break. Plastic frame is very cheap and has no hanger. Tried hanging on an existing screw but kept falling. Will try a different method. Finished picture turned out cute.

Could have been fun…but no needle in the package
I ordered two; one for my granddaughter and her friend. my granddaughters friend loved her kit, but alas, there was no needle in my granddaughter‘s kit, so she didn’t get to experience that fun.. I could not find a needle the same size that is in the kit at the craft store.Do I have to order another kit?I guess so.

An easy project that is engaging and can be finished.
I did this with my 6-year old grandson and he did such a fabulous job. Instructions were easy and the size of plastic canvas was perfect. I will get another one to try it with my 5-year old grand daughter if I find a different pattern.

Cheap and too difficult for ages on the box
The plastic grid that you are supposed to needlepoint on is ok… but the yarn that was included is so thin and sparse, it doesn’t fill the spaces on the grid. Also, the “needle” that was included barely fits through the homes of the grid. So, lots of frustration from a kid and as a parent, it was just a junky product. If I hadn’t already thrown it away, I would be returning for a refund.
