Works on a Bush Hog mower
I have a Bush Hog zero turn that was originally built with this Solenoid. One day after I finished cutting the grass I shut off the mower and noticed the starter was spinning. The only way to stop it was to disconnect the battery. Lucky me the starter survived, but it was pretty obvious the solenoid had welded itself closed. A replacement part from an authorized dealer was over $100. After doing some searching I found a review on here with another person who said it worked on his Bush Hog so I bought it. At less than 1/3 the price and an exact fit, I can't complain. Install was tough, but that's due to the location in the mower, not the solenoid itself. I am a bit disappointed the original died as these are heavy duty contacts. I have hopes the replacement will last 10 years or more. Overall a great buy at a better price than dealer.

Dead at 11 months.
Like others have noted- Worked fine, until it didn't! We used it to manually power the glow plugs (replacing the timer relay) in my son's Mercedes diesel. It never saw continuous duty, at most 15 seconds at a time at perhaps 50 amps. It did not ever really get hot; it never stayed on long enough to. Just short of a year after purchase it failed. It still 'clicks', but it is failing to make contact/ complete a circuit internally. It didn't burn out, it broke! There's no excuse for that kind of failure in a mechanism this simple! I initially assumed this switch was 'overkill' as it's quite robust compared to the solenoid component in the Benz's stock timer relay, which I've seen last decades!

Keeps high Amp power away from small switches.
I love the solid ker-chunk when these close. It keeps you from having to feed high Amp wire and worrying that the little switch can't handle the load. I put my big driving lights on this so a small switch on the dash activates the solonoid an the lights get all the amps they need with no heat worries.

Runs very hot, but has been reliable so far
Seems to be working fine after a month or so. I have a constant temperature monitor on it, in line from my battery/DC power converter, which maintains a steady 13.3v. The coil stays between 135-150° with zero load, which seems excessively hot, but from what I have read, this is normal for C.H. solenoids. I recommend a heatsink of some kind and as much ventilation as possible, because it will only get hotter as the load increases. That said, it has been reliableso far, however it pays to know that the coil will may burn out if you go much higher than 13.5v. Ask me how I know…

Great Product, Great Price
I purchased the 60A continuous duty version of this for my auxillary battery installation on my pickup. This isolates my "house" battery from my engine battery when the ignition is turned off by opening the bridge circuit between them. When the ignition is turned on, it closes the circuit and allows my alternator to charge both batteries together. It is mounted with a couple 1/4" hex head bolts. Being a diesel mechanic, I come in contact with many Cole Hersee products and they are always of the utmost quality. I would recommend this brand highly.

Works great
I was only drawing 30 amps the first solenoid I bought and it lasted about 20 minutes. I got this one because it was rated for continuous duty and so far has worked great.
