Fantastic Option
I had a tough time deciding between the G2X LE and the G2x Tactical. The LE version turns on emitting 600 lumens and can switch to 15 lumens to extend battery life. The Tactical version turns on emitting 600 lumens and that's it. That makes the Tactical version more reliable when seconds count. That being said, I bought the LE because I can access the same high light mode the first time, every time while still having an 'admin' mode helping to preserve my night vision. I like this set up a lot but can understand the argument for the Tactical version. I find the reach to be sufficient, the beam to have a nice bright center with an excellent diffuse light surrounding that enabling peripheral vision. The light does have a slightly green tint to it, but I don't care. The light is light and reliable and USA designed, built and guaranteed - that's pretty dang good in my book. This is the one I have on my belt because it checks off all of my boxes. PS - The third G2X option is the Pro. This light turns on in the 15 lumen setting and can be bumped up to the 600 lumen setting with a quick half press of the tail switch. This is a great option if this is more of a survival light or a 'just in case' light for you because it will help to extend your battery life. This was not an option for me because I was looking for a tactical light and need the maximum brightness right off the bat. PPS - Check out the Fenix ARB-L16-700 16340 battery (you need 2) for a rechargeable option to help save you a bundle of money on batteries. You will get a shorter runtime out of rechargeables, but you will save money over single use CR123As.

Great lights
I’m a huge fan of surefire lights. Going through my house I have one in nearly every room, at least one in my car, and usually have at least one on my person anytime I’m out of the house. I started using Surefire lights about 14 years ago when I became a cop and haven’t stopped since. I’ve got some of the old ones that were incandescent and would die suddenly after about an hour of continuous use. In practice, as a police officer working the night shift I had to change the batteries on those lights every week or 2. The LED version came out and dramatically increased the run time. Now at work I’m using the G2X Tactical and in nearly every other role I’m using the G2X Pro. The Tactical is good for Policework since I want a bright light every time I use it. For other work though, I prefer the Pro switch that has low light on the first press and full power on a quick second press. This prevents me from blinding myself when doing close range mundane tasks that I encounter in daily life. I have carried Surefire lights daily for over a decade and have yet to break anything on them except for a pocket clip on one. I have been thrown into a pool, fully dressed, by my drunken coworker and the lights even survived that with no issues. If you need a bright, tough, and reliable light then you cannot go wrong with Surefire. The G2 series are my go to lights from Surefire.

Good light
Very good piece of equipment.

Solid light.
Surefire makes a good product and they stand by it. I am sure this light will last me many years with daily use. Just the right amount of throw and spill for an EDC light. Plus, it's US made. I like to buy American when given a choice. Only small gripe is battery life. It's good, but not great. Low mode is perfect for indoor dark spaces, or very close in your lap sort of things, but that's about it. High mode is awesome, but usually a bit more than I really need, and at the expense of battery life. I wish more manufacturers made quality lights with a more modest output (like 2-300 lumens) and good battery life, rather than focusing on high output. But I guess the marketing guys feel like that's what sells.

I love these
I have several now, the price and power is pretty unbeatable. I like to throw a Thyrm switchback on them to make it easier to handle, if you haven’t seen ‘em check it out hopefully this doesn’t get me in trouble lol but the flashlights are pretty much indestructible, I love 123a batteries despite the price they have 10 year shelf life so take my word for it always buy the branded 123a surefire sells they’re the best. Low light is awesome for not draining batteries and being usable, bright is “holy bleep” bright so you won’t be lacking. Highly recommend having 1 or more in your car, house, purse/bag etc. you never know when you will need a real flashlight and iPhone flashlight doesn’t cut it

A SOLID CHOICE, BUT PRICEY FOR WHAT IT IS
The premium flashlight category has gotten very competitive over the years, and while Surefire quality remains superb, they have quite a few competitors now in their space. And it's against the backdrop of competing lights that the G2X Pro--a dual-level light with a polymer plastic body--seems very expensive at its $90 list price. (Which is often what it sells for.) Don't get me wrong--this is a nice, well-balanced light in a great EDC size that performs as advertised--but I couldn't recommend it at $90. Fortunately, Amazon often discounts the light, and if you can grab it when it's down to $60, then its simple operation, minimal features and plastic body make a lot more sense. The high visibility yellow is a great color which should insure that you'll always be able to find this flashlight when you need it. Thanks for taking the time to read my review and I hope you find it helpful in making a buying decision.

Quality flashlight
This is a decent quality light, plenty bright for most of my needs, feels good in the hand. Can also run off of a 16650 rechargeable battery. However it is expensive for what it is. I would recommend the Streamlight Polytac over this as it's less expensive and has a better user interface and is programmable

Excellent Addition to my Helmet
Love having this light on my fire helmet. Way better than an angle light, and super bright, unless you want the lower light setting. Batteries hold up well, and I swap after a few uses. I haven't had any issues, and mounting it to my helmet has come in handy to see where I am working. The price is great for the quality.

Good work light, solid, dependable and bright. When you depend on a flashlight for safety or even your life, this one is on a very short list. Only downside is, it eats up bateries even when not in use. Keep some handy in your work bag. Update: Please disregard the comment about the batery eating part. Turns out it was a bad batch of bateries. With good bateries it just keeps on shining!!!
