Swift Programming: The Big Nerd Ranch Guide : Mathias, Matthew, Gallagher, John: desertcart.in: Books Review: Very good source to learn Swift2.0 - Covers Swift2.0. If you are a beginner and want to learn Swift2 then this is the book for you. Apple's Swift book is good but you will soon go offtrack and loose interest. This is not my first Swift book. BigNerd guys are late to publish this book, many Swift books were present already in the market for long. I studied some of them but didn't learn the concepts clearly. But I know from very beginning that I will buy BigNerd the day they will launch their version. And guess what they didn't disappoint me. Big Nerd series is known for user friendly way to teach things. RayWenderlich is another good series. If you want to start with iOS then Bignerd and RayWenderlich are your teachers. Blindly go with their books. Personally I like BigNerd more as their way of teaching is very natural and you grasp the concepts very clearly. I highly recommend this book. Review: First of all, I am a complete newcomer when it comes to coding and computer science. Before buying this book, I checked a lot of ratings about this book and the pros and cons of learning Swift programming with it. I am halfway through now and I can definitely say, that this book does a really good job of explaining how builiding apps works. It's easy to understand, contains good examples of how to use specific features of this programming language and inspires the reader to test out more than the given examples. It was definitely a worth buying product. The authors did a great job putting this together!

Une excellente intro au Swift et même à la programmation tout court par un éditeur qu'on ne présente plus tant leurs ouvrages sont didactiques.

That is my second book from Big Nerd Ranch. I've bought book about Android development a while ago and I've decided to get book about swift from you guys. I'm looking forward to reading this book and to learning swift. But unfortunately some pages of the book are unreadable. I guess there was a problem during printing (You can see the problem on photos attached)

Nobody could explain it better. But Swift is a quite complex language and a change of paradigm even. So I wouldn't recommend it to newbies, only to people with a strong programming knowledge.

This book really starts from the beginner's level to teach you Swift then goes progressively advanced topics. Uou will find yourself skipping a lot in the first few chapters if you are already experienced. Swift books need to be read as soon as they are published as the language evolves fast. Swift 3 looming at WWDC 2016 in June. Usual Big Nerd Ranch high quality programming guide.
