Auger bit useful for projects at home at a reasonable price
I have the half-inch diameter auger bit and have been using it to drill holes in logs for rebar. So far the bit has performed just as well as previous bits I had been using. This bit may have worked a little faster than the previous bit I was using but it might be due to the sharpness of the new auger bit. The bit hasn't slowed down or seemed to have dulled after a few days of use so the quality seems strong. The self tapping tip helps to keep the location of the holes you are drilling more precise and this bit seemed to work fine in various materials I had including pine logs which were pretty soft and harder composite decking material. Regardless of the material being worked with the drill bit was accurate and there was no issue getting through the material. The hex shanks is meant to be versatile and usable with different drill types but I don't really see myself using this with an impact driver or cordless drill with the quick connect as this bit is probably better suited for corded drills with a standard chuck. The bit comes in a plastic tube which is great for storage and since the bit is more on the compact size it is a little more versatile when tight spaces are involved. Overall, this is a good bit for use around the house or with DIY projects or maybe even on the job, especially at the very reasonable price.

Chews through timber like it’s butter!
If you’ve ever struggled with a standard spade bit trying to make it through a thick 4x4 or a stack of composite, you know the frustration of "stalling out." I picked up this 9/16" x 11.8" Auger Bit for a deck project, and it has been an absolute game-changer. What I Loved: Self-Feeding Power: The screw tip on this thing is aggressive in the best way. Once it bites, it pulls itself through the wood so you don’t have to lean your entire body weight onto the drill. Hex Shank is a Must: I’ve had round-shank bits slip in my chuck before, which is incredibly annoying. The 14x300mm hex design locks in tight—no spinning, just pure torque. Clean Holes: For a bit this long, I expected some "fuzz" or jagged exits. Surprisingly, the flutes clear chips efficiently, leaving a very clean path. This is huge if you’re running bolts or wiring through later. Versatility: I used it primarily on pressure-treated pine and some drywall, but it handled both without heating up or dulling prematurely. Pro-Tip: Because it’s nearly 12 inches long, make sure you have a firm grip on your drill (or use a side handle). When this bit grabs, it moves. Bottom Line: Whether you’re a DIYer building a pergola or a pro needing to bore through heavy ship timber, this bit is reliable, sharp, and worth every penny. It’s a specialized tool that makes a hard job feel very easy.

Perfect Size and Performance for Running Romex and Cat 6
Perfect Size and Performance for Running Romex and Cat 6 I ordered the 1/2" x 7.87" (200mm) auger bit specifically for running Romex and Cat 6 cables, and it has been exactly what I needed for that kind of work. The hole size is just right, able to comfortably fit Romex, two to three Cat 6 cables (or even four if you're only pulling through a single cavity). It strikes a great balance between being compact and still giving you the clearance you need. One of the biggest advantages of this bit is its smaller overall size. It lets me get into tighter areas where a longer or bulkier bit would be a struggle. In stud bays with less than 8" of spacing, I've been able to drill at an angle without any issues, which has been a huge help. The maneuverability alone makes it worth having. I've used this auger bit with both a Ridgid Subcompact and a Ryobi Compact drill, and it performed well on each. It fits securely, runs smoothly, and works reliably on both low and high speed settings. No wobble, no bogging down. Overall, this bit has been a solid addition to my electrical and networking work. If you need something compact that still handles multiple cables with ease, it's a great choice.
