So, this is not a bad item, but flawed in a few ways. First, the opening experience is terrible. You would not want to give this as a gift as is. It comes in a styrofoam cube, split in the middle and secured with strong packing tape. You need to use a knife to open it. The top of the glass comes out easily, but covered in styrofoam debris. The bottom part of the glass is behind a thin sheet of foam and needs to be pried out. Once removed, the glass is acceptable and as you can see from the video it spins nicely. The glass itself is slightly cloudy and clearly is not high-quality crystal. The accent light is a nice idea, but as you can see from the pictures, it is meant to be secured with a ring of adhesive (double-sided tape). The tape is not quite thick enough, so the height of the batteries is slightly taller, meaning if attached the ring will be slightly lumpy and offset. More important, however, the batteries are only accessible from the stuck-on side. That means that if you attach it, once the batteries die you would need to pry the ring off, leaving residue and not having additional adhesive to reattach. A much smarter design would have been little velcro discs -- that would have given the height so it would not be lumpy and would permit removal / replacement. So, all-in-all, a nice idea flawed with some bad design and packaging choices. You likely will not impress your mates with this.
