Works great in synology server to speed transfers
Increases throughput on my internal network for transfers to and from the NAS. No issues and easy to install

Genuine Synology OEM 10G Ethernet Card
This 10G Ethernet card is made by Synology, so it’s fully supported in DSM. Installation was pretty much plug and play, I wanted to use a Static IP address, so I had some configuration to do in the Synology Control Panel, but if I’d been satisfied with DHCP install would’ve been as easy as installing the card and plugging in an Ethernet cable. Tested with my only computer that supports 10G and got great speeds. The best part is you don’t have to necessarily be running 10G Ethernet to benefit from this card, I highly recommend this upgrade if you’re like me and prefer to run manufacturer official add-ons and you’re running any flavor of Multigig Ethernet (2.5G, 5G, or 10G) in your home. A friend of mine has 2.5G Ethernet in his home and is using this same card, he’s also pleased with its performance. While researching this upgrade I found a lot of third party cards that only support 1G or 10G without support for those in-between multigig standards, so buyer beware if you decide not to go the OEM route.

Works, plug and play.
It works, I set up my own 10 Gb network, and I'm able to transfer 1+ GB/s to my NAS, that's GigaByte. The con is that it's a bit more expensive than a typical destop NIC.

Plug n Play in my 1821+. Runs slightly cooler than X540. Only takes up x4 size.
Plug n play directly in my Synology 1821+. It comes installed with a half-height PCIe bracket already (full height included in box), so its literally plug n play. Unlike other generic Intel X540 or X550 cards that usually have full height PCIe. Works on my 10G switch and my 2.5G switch.

Works Well, But Pricey Compared to Alternatives
I had to replace my old 10GbE adapter after updating my Synology DS1618+ to DSM 7.2.2, which unfortunately stopped recognizing the third-party card I was using. I opted for the Synology E10G18-T1 mainly for guaranteed compatibility. Installation was straightforward, and the NAS recognized the card immediately—no extra setup needed. Performance has been solid so far, with stable 2.5GbE speeds (due to the connected router limitation) and no issues during large file transfers. That said, the price is significantly higher than many third-party options. If your setup depends on DSM compatibility and you want to avoid headaches after updates, this card does the job well. But if you're on a budget and willing to troubleshoot, there are more affordable alternatives out there. However, compatibility might be an issue.

Great way to boost performance of the NAS
I bought this 10Gbe adapter for my Synology DS1621xs+ to increase one more 10Gbe connection for a total of two. It works as advertised and the installation was simple. Highly recommend this adapter to those who want to experience 10Gbe connection. Once you've tried it, it's hard to go back to gigabit connection.

Easy to drop in and install.
I dropped this into my Synology 1821+ and it was an easy fit. Simple install and once I buttoned the NAS drive back up it was working just fine. I set the IP address so I can directly access it from my Alienware and I effectively turned my NAS drive into a bit floppy disk of external temp & swap space. For this reason I wanted a big cache and plenty of memory as I will be reading and writing a lot to it. It bangs out 5GB/sec into my Alienware as that is the only card I have over 1 GB/sec. Next step is an external 10 GB card for the alienware.

Doesn't perform
This is supposed to be a 10GB card. When I install it in my Synology box, it is only showing up as 2.5GB. It is connected to a 10GB switch and all other 10GB devices are connecting at full speed. Update 11/14/2025 The first one of these I bought a year ago has failed. I spent the last few weeks troubleshooting random network issues, and the culprit was this network card. Avoid this card if you want to avoid headaches!

Bought for Synology DS1821+ for 10GB LAN connection. Working flawlessly.

Took me less than 5 minutes to install. Keeps 5-7 Gbps which an amazing speed for a local network. Files transfer and data access are by far faster than before.
