Pitching Target (EA)

This is well-made, very easy to put together, and sturdy. Unfortunately it hasn't captured the heart of my 12.5 year old son who still only wants to pitch to a catcher! That is not the fault of product. One small problem with the product is that the ball pouch (where the ball collects if you throw a strike) is made from heavy duty vinyl without any holes at the bottom of it. So, if your unit is outside and it rains, you'll have a lot of water in the pouch. This can be easily corrected by punching your own holes at the bottom of pouch.

This product has a heavy frame and fairly heavy vinyl material. However, shortly after 2nd use by a Little League speed pitcher the sewn seams around the pocket area are already tearing loose. Either a lack of QA or the thread was very, very cheap. I took it to an upholstery shop and had it re-sewn with heavy thread and it now appears to be useable again.

This trainer worked great to help our son train and feel comfortable throwing strikes with a batter at the plate. Often kids do well pitching in the cages and then hold back when a batter steps up, for fear of hitting them. The unit is sturdy, but the vinyl wears out after one year and the company doesn't sell replacements for the vinyl or respond to emails. So now it sits useless until they respond or I throw out the unit. They also raised the price from $85 to $135. They would do better at the lower price and selling replacement vinyl for $25. One star removed for lasting a year; one star removed for not offering replacement vinyl; one star removed for no customer service. Two solid stars for the product over 1 season.

just received the product today, however the packaing from Amazon was poor. box was ripped open. no defective parts, but missing ITEM 7 - Thumb Screw (4 of them.) not a slam on the product, but cant hold the unit together without the Thumb Screws...Beyond missing Thumb Screws, it looks like it is well made. now off to the hardware store to find some screws so i can actually use the product i bought...

The steel tube is thicker gauge than other products I looked at, and is appropriate for a pitching target. Lighter gauge tubing would have been bad, I think. This is why I selected this product.At first I was bummed that (like others who have reviewed) I appeared to be missing the thumbscrews as well. I enlisted my wife in the search, and she found the thumbscrews taped WAY up in the shipping box. Very happy with the product.

Screws were missing from it and this made it difficult to to put it together since there was not a size just a number on for the the bolts.

I would give it 5 stars but it digs into the astroturf and the tension bands tend to slip. otherwise a really nice tool. My son pitches about 55-60 and I've had to replace the bungees with black solid rubber ones. Otherwise still holding up 8 months later.

good sturdy target and easy to put together BUT the pocket that catches the baseballs that are thrown in the strike zone ribbed the first day I used it . My pitchers are 13 and 14 and throw 65 mph..that was a dissapointment
