Exactly what we needed for this full remote learning environment
My kids go to a Montessori school but now, due to COVID, they are getting a full remote education and this switch from 100% hands-on learning to 100% screen learning is really a shock to the system. I don't think things are sinking in quite as well so I decided to supplement with hands on activities. We got these blocks and I have been VERY happy with them. They're sturdy and (except for the color) are exactly the same as what they have in school. I like that it comes in it's own storage tub and individual zip lock bags. It also comes with a pretty impressive book filled with lessons/activities and even work sheets. The lessons are geared towards ages 8-11 which seems about right, but these blocks can be used for younger kids. My little girl is 6 years old and her brother is 12. With the little one we use it to show addition with regrouping and subtraction with borrowing. The twelve year old doesn't use it as much but sometimes we'll use it for division with remainders. All around, I'm very impressed with this set.

The box works fine if your pack it right
I'm not going to review the product because this has stood the test of time. It's a useful teaching resource. I read a lot of reviews saying the box doesn't fit all the pieces. It does but you have to place the stack of flats and the thousands cube right in the center. Then I put the rods and units around. Everything fits just fine that way. It's mildly annoying to not be able to just throw everything in but it's not that big of a deal. Most children will understand if you show them and then you won't have to deal with it anymore.

Great Set for Distance Learning!
As a retired teacher turned private tutor, I love this set of base 10 blocks. Unlike other sets I viewed, there are more than enough flats, rods, and units cubes. While some reviewers mentioned preferring a multi colored set, I prefer the single color. Students are required to identify each piece using the correct name rather than by color. In my experience, this leads to a quicker understanding of place value and regrouping. I’m not having an issue with the storage box as others have mentioned. Everything fits just fine! The accompanying book is a great addition offering extra support for quite a few math concepts. Great value overall!

Versatile/Fun activities
I got these for my daughter when she did virtual schooling for her 2nd grade year due to covid. My kindergartener was able to use the blocks too. We used these mostly for place value. Ialso use them for multiplication practice now that my daughter is in 3rd grade. I love the book of activities. I also use the blocks for other activities I find. This is useful for working in a school or personal use with your own children. These types of blocks can get really expensive, so these were worth the price.

It's an okay starter kit.
I purchased these as a quick replacement for my wooden base ten set that went missing. I like to say that these are not bad blocks, they are just not made for long term use in a classroom. Some of my ten rods have seams that are open which makes them prone to breaking. I do like that they are lightweight. The price is nice and I would use this at home.

Perfectly as Expected
Same as the set my mom had for us in 4th grade, they are lightweight, sturdy, and perfect for adding a concrete visual to basic math. Just so you know, these are hollow and will not work if you’re thinking of using them on a balance scale for weight relations (10 ones don’t weight the same as a single 10 block). But they are perfect to scale so you can line them up and all will easily show relation to each other. My child enjoys them to have as we introduce basic math on her worksheets.

Great buy
Found myself as did the rest of this world homeschooling and without the proper materials. So thank goodness for amazon and finding great products like this. I’ve been using this for my six year old in her math lessons in montessori learning. It’s made a great addition to my make shift classroom. Quality product all the pieces present came with a workbook however I haven’t looked in it so can’t review it. The box it comes with for storage is cheaper but I can’t complain I didn’t buy it for a storage tote.

Excellent way to help children with math!
I love this product!!! It is an easy way to help explain numbers. And, you can visually explain ones, tens, hundreds, and thousands. I had a set in my elementary grade classroom. I used it throughout the school year. I bought two more sets after I retired to help grandchildren with math. I also use and used it in combination with a hundreds chart and sometimes when introducing a new concept. I feel it is worth every penny!
