Weems & Plath NaviTote Marine Navigation Tools Organizer

I am taking a Coastal Navigation class and wanted to keep all of my navigation tools together, safe, and organized. This tool roll fits my tools well, and has plenty of space for additional items as I learn more in my class. It folds easily and the straps are easy to secure.This is a great way to store and protect your expensive navigation tools.

Weems and Plath always meets my expectations as they only sell good gear. The tote is well made and I appreciate the traditional materials and closure. And now all my plotting materials are organized! I teach navigation and thus carry a lot of stuff to class (more than I'd take on a boat), but the tote holds it all. Some of my students saw my tote and went right out and ordered one for themselves. I wouldn't change a thing in the design and construction.

This won't work with many navigation tools. Sure, it'll hold a pencil and some dividers, but it is too small for most parallel rules, marine calculator cards, or even the Weems 255 protractor. Twice the price of a more-useful non-marine tool roll.

I am really perplexed as to why some of the other reviewers gave such a poor rating. I was able to fit all of my items neatly into the totes including dividers, parallel ruler, circular slide rule, and even a Portland Plotter. I originally avoided buying this product because of the reviews, but decided to give it a chance. I'm glad I did. The material is of high quality is very stiff. The closure is a bit clumsy, would have preferred possibly Velcro or a snap. However, it is very rugged. There is even room for some folded up charts.

Holds all my nav tools in a fold in half handy protector organizer. I don't agree with all the negative opinions about this organizer. This is not a roll up tool holder, more like a suit case for your tools, folding into a 10 inch by 16 inch case. About 1 inch thick loaded with tools inside. I had no issues with its quality or design. A carrying handle would have been nice but not essential.

I'll be one of the reviewers who can't figure out why some of the other reviewers can't figure out how to fit their tools in the tote. I have parallel rules, the triangle, the slide rule, the dividers, and another big calculator thing and it all fits with a really huge chart, a compass, pencils, and some little things. I really don't get it. Also, the tote is well made. I wish the pencil slots weren't so deep, but I'm not going to dock a star for deep pencil slots.

This organizer holds my river charts and navigation tools securely. It's well made and has handy D-rings and straps for hanging the organizer in the nav station. I feel the vendor charged a fair price for this product and shipped it promptly. It arrived in fine shape and was immediately placed into use. After 2 years of regular use it is still useful and in good shape.

I agree with the other reviews, this tote is useless for the purpose that was supposedly intended. It is inconceivable to me that a company that built it's reputation on quality measuring tools would create a tote that doesn't fit their own tools. All of the pockets are too narrow to fit the item #105 Nautical Slide Rule. The item #141 15" Parallel Rules will fit width wise but it's too tall for the pocket so the bag will not fold properly. In addition the size and shape of the pockets doesn't seem to have any correllation to the shape of the tools anyone would want to put in them. This bag seems to have been designed by a fashion designer with no clue about what was actually suppose to go in it. It's very clear that Weems & Plat never once tested it with their own products or it would have never made it onto the market. If ever a product begged for a recall this is it.

A standard course plotter won't fit into the sleeve provided, so it's pretty much useless.Having read the other reviews where people have written that their tools did fit, I can only assume that the manufacturing is very inconsistent. Disappointing. Now have to return the item...
