This is a great little tea kettle. Made from stainless steel, light and works very well. My water heats up fast. My mom liked it so much that she started drinking tea again.

and there's a whistle...! I use a heat diffuser on an electric stove top and only turn to one up from medium heat. you can hear the water roiling through the thin metal construction... so don't really want to wait for the little whistle. (and there may not be enough energy produced on a slow combustion stove for the whistling... only on gas or electric -- instructions say.) for about $10 -- very good deal! thanks!!

I use this often and it rarely whistles. I hear the water boiling before any whistle happens.

It does the job but it does not whistle very loud at all. I have to be standing in the kitchen in order to hear it. 😳😓 I don't like the flat bottom on my ceramic cooktop. Wish it was a little more beveled so that it could sit directly on the burner
