I was really pleasantly surprised by the quality of this for the price. It's a great knife for cutting and dicing small vegetables and herbs. I use it all the time when I cook and I really like the feel of it. This knife has a carbon steel core and sharpens/holds an edge well.This comes from the supplier razor sharp. I was also really happy to find out that it really is layered steel, I thought that it was maybe just marketing on the description, and when I first opened it I couldn't see a clear line, but as soon as I cut through something acidic a patina started forming and I was glad to know that I wasn't taken for a ride.The 135mm length is a little short for my hands, so make sure that you know what size you're looking for.This really is a nice kanetsune, especially for the price. If you need a good starter knife for herbs and small vegetables, buy this knife.
