Cast Iron Cooking: 50 Gourmet Quality Dishes from Entrees to Desserts

I found Cast Iron Cooking very informative and filled with recipes I had never associated with cast iron. The recipes are clearly written and not complicated. I love the idea that I can do more with cast iron then just fry food. I would recommend it to everyone who has any cast iron cookware and is looking for new ways to use it.

The recipes are great although I wish they were all complete dishes in the skillet. It seems some of the recipes involve cooking something or preparing something that doesn't invlove the skillet to go with the skillet dish. Again the recipes are very good and now I cook pizza in it once a week.

I gave this as a gift, however, the recipes and pics are beautiful! I hope the gal recieving it will enjoy it! I was happy to find it though, never thougth there'd be a cook book out there for cast iron! Thank you!

It's not expected it has arived

I have purchased several books for cooking in cast iron, and though the instructions were excellent, I was often disappointed in the results. This book really includes wonderful recipes cooked in several different cast iron pieces....everything from skillets to Dutch ovens to woks to tagines! I have been impressed with every recipe I have made using this book, and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys cooking with cast iron.

I am returning to cast iron cooking. I researched several books about cast iron cooking and I found this one is the best. I highly recommend this book to either the new cast iron cook or those returning as am I. My own skillet dates to 1955 and I cooked everything in it.

Several of the recipes are on rotation at our house. I sometimes have to adapt a bit to fit Paleo diet. I have an expensive Le Creuset Dutch oven, and find that any of my Lodge cast iron works better. This book shows me I can make almost anything in cast iron.

I eat clean so this book wasn't for me... a lot of pork and shellfish... not for me. If you eat that, you will like it.
