These are great! My set goes about 10 days or so on 4 brand new AA batteries. The timer is automatic you can't set it or see it, once you turn it on it remembers, I think it was 6 hours on / 18 off. There are several patterns that the lights go on/blink. I also purchased a set for Christmas! 1st pic is in the dark, 2nd pic is at dusk. Like some others, I also made the mistake with the batteries, the double A's sit in their own piece but that piece MUST be connected to the battery case cover which is like a 9volt connection. The bulbs are clear when off, the wire is thin and tangles easy but overall these are fantastic!

I was nervous they called these MINI lights.....they are regular sizePro-they freaking work! sometimes its a crap shoot on if battery or solar lights will work. These babies work!-use AA batteries-battery operated and bright just like plug in ones-6hr timer-multiple blinking options-very long string of lights-big battery pack making it easy to find /turn on in the dark-battery compartment seems well made to keep out rain-durability? held up during a wind storm and daily rain for a week (Only have had for a week so far)-battery life? running nightly for a week and no issuescon (I knew all this purchasing bc they disclose this on the decription....its nothing to reduce my rating)-no way to adjust the 6hr built in timer.....once they are on the clock starts ticking for the 6hr window-no dusk to dawn timer-string is easy to break (I was pulling it thru my fence and busted off about 5 ft at the end....thankfully they still workedNOTE: I returned 12 boxes that I bought from Walmart bc they did not work. Took a chance on these and they are great/worth every penny.

I ordered 3 sets of these lights last year for Christmas, they worked well, the battery life on one of them was def shorter than the other two sets. After putting them away for the season, I took them out this year and 1 of the sets does not work at all. Very disappointed, as I use them for a sign to direct traffic to my Christmas display. The price is now 4 times what I got them for last year. I can't get a replacement as it is over a year since I purchased them. Even though the lights were only running for a month and should be replaced, Amazon was "kind" enough to give me a credit for the one set. So if these lights work this year, I hope they work when I take them out next year, otherwise, I would want change my stars for this review

At first I thought I had been sent clear lights instead of the orange and purple I ordered-- the bulbs are clear, not colored. But once I turned them on, they were in fact orange and purple. Also, at first I thought they were broken because after I put the batteries in, the lights would not turn on. However, I eventually discovered this was due to operator error--I had not seated the contacts on the batteries into the contact receptacles in the lid of the battery pack. Now that I have the batteries up and running, they work great and look very nice. And I LOVE that they have a timer on them! I set them to turn on once it's dark out, then they turn off 6 hours later. The timer feature is AWESOME! Very happy with purchase. :)

These lights are brighter than expected and have many modes to choose from. The multicolor looks festive for the holidays. I chose these as the roof of my house is too high up for me to reach even with the tallest stepladder I have, so now these lights light up the area around the front door. I am however, confused about the timer; it is supposed to be on auto mode, 6 hrs on, 18 off so I assumed that once I hit the power button, I am set. The lights didn't come on the next evening though so I guess I need to hit the power button everyday? Wish the timer worked better or that it came with a remote.

Battery housing is thin and weak. It has 4 aa batteries in a cage with a 9v style connector that makes to housing and control. The negative side pulled out of the battery cage on first battery change. On the other hand that first set of batteries lasted along time.With a reinforced battery cage it would be a great product. Every thing else worked flawlessly so it was disappointing to have such a failure on first battery swap

We bought two strings for Halloween. We loved them so much, bought 4 strings for Christmas. Not only is the price reasonable, they have great battery life as well as the 6 hrs on 18 hrs off feature. Very happy with this purchase at our house.

I bought three of these for the bushes in front of my house. I’ve had them a few days and plan to buy more. After reading some of the other comments, I think you need to know: 1) There on contacts on the battery holder that need to fit tightly into their other half in the bottom of the cylinder. If you make sure of that, you won’t have any problems with just half the lights working. 2) The timer starts when you turn on the lights. They are on for 6 hours, then off for 18, then on for 6, etc. If you want them to start at, say, 5:00, then at 5:00 push the button to turn them on. They will then run on the cycle mentioned above. There is no timer to set. The “on” time starts when you turn them on. 3) There are 8 patterns of light (such as flashing, fade, always on, etc.). Just read the label on the battery case and keep hitting the button until you get the pattern you want. It’s super easy. 4) I put the battery case in a ziploc bag and added duct tape to keep it protected outside. I hope you enjoy your lights as much as I do.

From the pictures I was expecting the purple to be actually purple. I dunno if it’s just me but they seem more blueish white. Very disappointed.Edit- I think it might have just been the lighting but we strung them up and they look purple when all the lights are off and you’re not looking at them close up. I am pleased!

Doesn't work. Battery casing isn't designed for AA batteries -- it's a 9V-like connector in a cheap plastic cylinder. The four AA batteries rattle and move around so they can't get a clean connection, the lights don't turn on. Tried for half an hour to find different ways to fit the batteries in right, used multiple arrays of brand new batteries, nothing. No instructions inside the package except a postage-stamp size piece of paper in imperfect English saying to "use 4 AA batteries." The remote control isn't a remote control, it's a button on the battery casing -- a *remote control* kind of has to be *remote*.There's also zero chance this is waterproof, considering the battery casing isn't even close to hermetic.Returned for refund, and absolutely shocked at what a cheap and shoddy product it is.

The only problem I have is that it needs to sit straight up the wire connecting shortens out. Not sure if its because of how I have the battery pack in side. Other than they I love them you can change the settings and looked amazing on my staircase for halloween. I will probably buy some next year for outside.

I like the battery powered lights. Also like the built in timer - on for 6 hours off for 18 hours cycle. I have two sets strung up in a Lilac tree & enjoy the scene from indoors looking out. Lights look robust enough to take the outdoor weather in Canada well.

Me gustó el producto, pero no vi con claridad que ocupara tantas baterías. El producto vale la pena, pero yo pensé que no tendría que ponerle tantas baterías. Las baterías pesan mucho y es difícil ocultarlas, no me parece muy ecológico.
