SOUTHWEST WHEEL10" X 2-1/4" TruRyde Trailer Electric Brake Assembly (1 Right + 1 Left)

Bought 2 sets of 10" brakes for my double axle boat trailer to convert it from a hydraulic surge system to electric, after the hydraulic system jammed up (again). The brake plates come fully assembled. All you have to do is bolt them to the axles, hook up the wiring, and do the initial adjustment. I'm using them with a Teknosha Prodigy P2 brake controller. It all works well.

The Truryde trailer brakes were a good price, well packaged and delivered quickly. The brakes were built well and fit perfect.

i was quite supprised at how easy these brakes are installed, they came completly assembled and with the mounting bolts and nuts. i thought this was going to take a few hours but once you take off the brake hub the rest goes pretty fast. my truck has the braking adjuster and they seem to work fine. i could not complain about anything as for the price it was quite the deal.

Fit well as expected. The electrical brake lines could have been slightly longer and the insulation was definitely tough to strip down. Although that was just a small issue, not enough to bring it down a star. Took a small trip and braking was spot on with new hubs. Be sure to burnish or wear in and adjust once installed which means you must jack up your axles and adjust your wheel spin with just a very slight drag. Also be sure to adjust again after 200-250 miles and then at least once a year or more if you use your RV / Trailer consistently. Also re-torque the bolts that hold the bolting plate to axles.

I cannot find anywhere on it where it is made, but I am guessing that like all of this type of stuff I have bought in the past 5 years, it all comes from China. Amazon SHOULD require all listed items on Amazon to say clearly where they are made! That is only fair since we cannot shop their store in person, and we only know what they get around to telling us in the listings!!It is from my inspection, at least as good as what I bought locally a year ago, and that though also from China, did very well for me then. The bearings that it comes with do clearly show China as origin. So I assume it all is from China. It should give good service. I hope so anyway. The brake shoes are quite thin new, so the life will be shorter than I might wish for, and I will no doubt have to replace them earlier than any American parts might have been. The electric pucks look okay..... only time will tell if they will hold up. They do come fully assembled and easy to install!!! That is nice!

These brake assemblies are exactly the same as the ones I took off of my trailer. They are stamped "TruRyde" and every piece of hardware was identical to the original ( Exception: The magnets had one less manufacturing hole on its surface) They shipped FAST (From Texas), arriving on the first day of the 4-day arrival window. They were packaged well. Country of origin was nowhere to be see, but if these are made in China, they must have the original manufacturing machinery. The brakes quickly became more effective on my first dry run as I manually engaged them several times. It looks like I won't even have to manually adjust them as they say they automatically adjust when engaging while towing forward. (I did adjust one side to get it to slightly rub the drum on installation) The manual adjustment is accomplished via accessing the rear inside access hole (remove the rubber plug) and rotating the turnbuckle UP with a screwdriver. (This was the right side. I assume the left is the same)These brake assemblies were just a couple dollars more than just the name brand magnets, so it just made sense to go this route.Note: These assemblies are specific for each side since their rotation is side-specific. I couldn't find a stamp indicating the side, but the paper labels indicated "L/H" and "R/H". (See photos) Comparing the new brake to the old one works too.

One side came with the wrong nuts, email the seller and two days later, I received the right ones. Great customer service!Installation was easily done after taking the old one off. Once adjusted and wired, my 5200 lb. boat stopped with ease. Before, the wife would be a back seat driver yelling me to start breaking early.The boat would push my Chevy Avalanche, causing me to sweat during stops. I also experienced less "thump" from the boat slamming to my truck whenever I break.Definitely recommend it to anyone who is wondering if it's worth the money or is having issues that I've described. Not to mention - - it saves brake pads on your truck!
