Nocturnes. Piano Solo.: Schirmer Library of Classics Volume 1550 Piano Solo

I got this just to learn Nocturne #1 Not sure of the transcript and fingering suggest and the print is quite close together.... I copy a page and enlarge it so it it easier to read. This is quite advanced but worth getting even if your playing isn't so good as you can listen to the Noctures and follow them with the music. The 22s and left hand arpeggios are not for the faint hearted. Good luck !

My son needed this for his piano work and it's a great book. As a dad, there's nothing so soothing as hearing one of your children playing a nocturne after breakfast on a Sunday morning.

Nice binding, nice and clear music, and can expect all notes to be accurate (unlike some of the other versions I was looking at before purchasing this book). From what I can tell, the quality does justify the high price.

The 'ABRSM Signature Series' is always my go-to edition for sheet music. They are beautifully printed, well edited, and include useful (and practical) fingerings; the Nocturnes are no exception to this. It includes a useful preface at the start, with short summaries of each of the Nocturnes included. You get what you pay for, and this edition is, by far, worth the money! The reason I gave it four stars, is because this isn't a complete edition of the Nocturnes, as it's missing the posthumous Nocturnes in C minor and C-sharp minor. This is a real shame and quite a major flaw, as most other publishers (Alfred, Henle, Schirmer) include these two Nocturnes in their anthologies. If this edition included both these posthumous Nocturnes, it would easily be one of, if not the best on the market.

An excellent editions. Always edited by experts who know what they are talking about. Thomas Fielden was an experienced pianist and Harold Craxton's fingerings are always worth considering.

dünn aber man kann die Noten dennoch gut lesen. Alle meine Lieblingsnocturnen sind drin, leider viel zu viele b's und #'s so dass das Notenlesen echt nicht einfach ist. nur für geübte Pianisten mit langer Spielerfahrung ;)
