Provides longer lasting relief
After trying half a dozen different water-based lubricant drops over the past couple of years, my Dr recommended I try an oil based lubricant eye drop for longer lasting relief for my dry eyes. While there isn't an immediate "Aaahh, that feels so much better". These drops have no stinging or gritty sensation and do seem to hold off the dry eye burn about twice as long as regular lubricant drops at a lower cost than the comparable Refresh drops in those silly single use vials. Works well enough that I'd buy again.

The best of the best eye drops for dry eyes after PRK
After PRK eye surgery I needed very gentle and very moisturizing eye drops. Tried many different ones, have read many reviews. Nothing really helped much or lasted long enough to make any difference. My eyes still felt dry, scratchy and the vision after about 6 weeks have not improved. I had the same vision that I had 1 week after PRK. My doctor said it is because my eyes are dry. Also the cold weather and using the heat does not help my recovery. I have tried Theratears drops, Refresh liguid gel, Genteal gel, Blinks, Similisan, Systane Balance, Soothe Hydration by Bausch+Lomb..Nothing really worked or lasted long enough. Genteal gel worked a little better than the rest of them but even Genteal did not last longer than 30-40 min.So, after reading online about different eye drops and the ingredients, many researches, I discovered that I need eye drops containing glycerin. Refresh Optive Advanced has 1% of glycerin in it and 2 other lubricans, so it reduced tear evaporation, hydration and lubrication for those of us with dry eye symptoms better than majority of other eye drops.I absolutely LOVE this eye drops, especially combined with GenTeal lubricant eye gel for severe dry eye (in the tube) or Systane Nighttime Lubricant Eye Ointment at night, my eyes are much better. If somebody has dry eyes, especially after the eye surgery like PRK or LASIK, try this drops. They are the best in my opinion in moisturizing the eyes and very soothing without burning or irritating the eyes like some others and do not feel like a thick glue in the eyes. For those with more mild dry eyes Refresh Optive eye drops (I have them too) is another good option. I rotate Refresh Optive and Refresh Optive Advanced. There is Refresh Optive in a generic form.

Good for anyone who has Dry Eye Disease
I take an RX eye drop for my dry eye disease. It helps a little. I still need to use eye drops frequently. Especially when the AC or Heater is running. And, even more so in the car when the AC or heat is on. It's miserable! These come in a green bottle and are a thick tear. They do alleviate symptoms and the pain I experience. Because they are thicker, your vision may be blurred for a couple minutes. I used to only use these at bed time, but now I am experiencing such pain and altered vision due to the lack of natural oil film in my eyes, that they are the only thing that will provide relief in these extreme cases.
