IAMS Proactive Health Adult Urinary Tract Healthy Dry Cat Food with Chicken, 3.5 lb. Bag

Our cat, Orion, has had recurring bouts of urinary tract inflammation. There's no sign of infection or crystals in his urine, but he periodically has difficulty urinating, and blood in his urine.Up to recently, he has been eating the dog's food. I know that is not ideal for a cat, but we have a couple of finicky canine eaters, that nibble at the food all day long, and one aggressive eater, so trying to manage feeding the three dogs differing eating habits once or twice a day seemed pretty complicated.We've been going to the vet, when Orion has an episode every few months, and getting meds, which I've been sprinkling on a small can of salmon or tuna, but it seemed like that was only a temporary fix.So. . . recently I ordered a bag of IAMS urinary tract health cat food, to see how/if it worked. I don't know long term its effect on the cat's UT issues, but the cat LOVES the food. I'd been picking up the dogfood bowl at night and putting out the cat food, so the cat had nothing else to eat at night, and then moving the cat food bowl to the counter during the day.The cat discovered the bowl location and now jumps up on the counter to eat the cat food all day long. Apparently he's so full from the dry cat food, that he's turning up his nose on his morning can of salmon. He no longer wants it, which greatly surprised me.I don't have any experience with cat food. The 7# bag was $16. Which I think kind of expensive, but worth it, if it solves the cat's urinary tract issues. . .🙂Dave

Amazing food!! My male cat got his first UTI. I didn’t even know cats could get UTI’s LOL. He got put on antibiotics but I was still very skeptical about him getting more or even worse a blockage, so I changed his kibble diet to this one and it worked out amazing for us!! He no longer struggles to pee or has any problems with it. At first he was hesitant of it but as days went by he started eating more and more until he got completely used to it! My other cats loved the kibble as well. 10/10 reccomend

My cat had that EXTREMELY expensive procedure to alleviate his bladder crystals. After a lofty bill, I was then told to feed him the most expensive urinary health food. I’m taking $65 a bag. My cat is MASSIVE, that bag would last him all of a week. I did my research and decided to try IAMS. I said my prayers that this extremely affordable option would work- and boy did it! I will keep my Finn on this for LIFE as he shows zero signs of bladder crystals, stress, or any other bladder problems. I am SO GRATEFUL for this option!

I got this cat free for my picky eaters. It has been really good for them and they've been eating it for many years. They really enjoy eating it and when it comes to the potty, you do not smell the poop in that so much. And that's a major win for me. It's almost like science diet. My cats had no issues when I transitioned them into this cat food. No digestive problems, Nothing.

Not the best top brand, however, my cat loves it.My cat use to suffer from kidney stones all the time, so the veterinarian said I had to change cat foods.My cat can’t eat every cat food I buy, however, my cat is able to eat this brand. I will keep getting it as it is very affordable, but not too cheap.

After trying several urinary tract health formulas, this IAMS PROACTIVE HEALTH Adult Urinary Tract Health Dry Cat Food with Chicken is the only one my cat will consistently eat. The chicken flavor seems to be a hit, and it’s comforting to know it’s designed to support her urinary health. The kibble size and texture work well for her too. It’s not always easy to find a specialized diet that a picky cat accepts, so this one has been a great find for us.

Really great food for urinary care - works as well for my cat with cystitis as an if the prescription diets he was on (and I highly recommend people look into the class action suit against Hills and why those prescription ones are a rip off). My cats go crazy for it the minute they smell it, and this size bag is perfect for a multi-cat household.
