A fabulous book on emotions for toddlers
The Lift-the-Flap Feelings board book is fantastic for little ones learning about emotions. It has lovely illustrations and easy-to-understand stories or scenarios, featuring children from different ethnicities, which makes it really relatable. At the end, there’s a little activity that my toddler loved. He especially enjoyed describing each emotion, like happy or sad, and it sparked some lovely conversations. A great, engaging way to help toddlers explore feelings!

Excellent book to help understand emotions
Fantastic book which really helped my little one understand and describe emotions. Even as a 6yr old now she still gets this out to help describe her emotions and has started to read the book herself.

Little ones favourite book at the moment
This is currently my 2.5 year olds favourite book. She looks lifting the flaps and telling me what she thinks the characters are feeling and why she think they feel that way. I try to further the discussion by asking her when were times she felt that way etc. I also like the diversity of the characters in the books. I'm not really a fan of one character being disgusted by veg and another being embarrassed by wetting themselves as I don't really want my little one to associate vegetables with disgust and accidents with embarrassment. However at the same time I do think these are still valid feelings and although children shouldn't feel embarrassed at wetting themselves they may well feel that way just like adults might feel embarrassed at times. I definitely know my eldest is disgusted by vegetables so again it is relatable still. I try to just discuss these examples a bit more e.g she finds them disgusting but we love those vegetables, it's okay to like different things. It's okay to feel embarrassed but we don't need to feel ashamed or worried about what others think. Accidents happen and its normal and we just clean it up etc. The actual book itself is really good quality, it's strong and still looks new despite being read frequently for the last few months.

Great book overall
I do agree with some of the other reviews the examples used could be better. However, there are things I love about this book too and my 2.5 year old does too: • Inclusive with names, he was happy to see a child named Muhammad. Love that people of colour are included too. • lift the flaps are interactive • the last 2 pages have questions to go through with your little one, he enjoys pointing the the face of the child that had the emotion in the question (almost like a game) • love the use of colours and different settings (like doctors, preschool, park) these are familiar but relatable for a child this age. • after very recently coming out of an abusive relationship with an emotionally unavailable man I am determined I teach my little boy emotions from a young age, recognising and expressing them in a healthy way. This book is a great start.

Amazing book
This book really has helped my daughter understand emotions and what they are. She's only 2, so I had worried this might be too advanced for her.. but she loves lifting up the flaps and listening to each child's day and deciding what feeling they are experiencing. The only part she doesn't engage with is when it says "talk about the time you had that emotion" but maybe that'll come eventually, when she gains more vocabulary. I highly recommend it.

Great from aged 2, a must buy.
I wanted to ensure my LG knew about emotions and feelings before starting nursery so she could try and help herself and others if needed. This is such a good book, I was dubious at first, but she absolutely understands most of the feelings in this book through the facial expressions, it’s brilliant. It’s great to help guide her through and label how she’s feeling. I feel we could have benefitted from this sort of thing back in the day so I’m very pleased these books are around for our children now.

Really helpful for 3 year olds
This book has really helped my son differentiate his feelings and understand why he has them. Great conversation starter to talk about times he’s felt a certain way. I am buying for every 3/4 year old I know!

Perfect!
Actually bought this for my 2 year old to explain that it's okay to feel certain ways and explain how she might feel after certain situations. She has engaged beautifully with it. Yesterday, we had to read it over and over and over, and then she took it to bed and we could hear her reading it to herself over the monitor (obviously by memory, clearly my 2 year old can't read haha). She'll be 3 in 2 months and her behaviour was awful for about a week which is why we went in search for a book about our feelings and this is perfect! She has subsequently started behaving 10 x better. Clearly not down to the book but I think it has definitely helped her realise that it's okay to feel angry, sad etc.

My 3yo daughter loves this book. It has become one of her favorites along with the “kindness” one from this series. The stories are captivating, imaginative, and inclusive. Highly recommend. You won’t regret it.

Kitap duyguları öğretmek adına güzel fakat bazı örneklerin çok yerinde olmadığını düşünüyorum. Yine de kızımın ilgisini çekti, basit ve dikkat çekici.
