The unit is very sturdy. The price was great. I used it to build a DIY Din to TRS cable for a Strymon Cloudburst.

I have been making my own cables and soldering small SMT components professionally for over 10 years, and these connectors are rather difficult to build if you are not experienced. The connector seems of decent quality for the money but please beware if you are less experienced.

I needed a new 5 pin connector for my vintage Realistic CB microphone that is no longer available. I took a chance that this would work and it matched up well. Only think it lacks, is a locking mechanism, but that was no problem, as it plugs in snuggly. Very well constructed and easy to connect with basic soldering skills.

Sturdy, solid, does the job. Regarding Pin numbers. They are marked on the plastic surrounding the pins, both on the front and back. While I am not aware of any numbering standard for DIN connectors, I noticed that these plugs are numbered mirror imaged from the most common numbering scheme (that I have encountered over the years). No big deal, just check your specific usage rather than going by pin numbers alone.

Used for DIY reel to reel and cassette tape interconnect cables to my vintage receivers.

Nice quality robust connector at reasonable price. The pins are solid (not hollow( which makes it a bit more difficult to solder as the wire must be held in place while soldering. With hollow pins, the wire simply lays in place. That said, if a 70 year old guy can get it done, it should be a snap for the younger generation.

Cheap stuff. The solder cups are big enough, which was nice... but all in all... side by side with Rean, it's clear how cheaply these are made. The metal cable crimp inside comes off super easily. Make sure the cables you're soldering are shrink tube'd. I made a cable to test it out, and tightened the screw on the housing. The cable shorted out. I wouldn't use this again without making sure all of my connections were completely isolated and protected. Once I did that, it worked fine... If I were to do it again, I'd buy the brand name and save myself the trouble.

This is what it is. Don’t listen to the other reviews if you’re decent with a soldering iron the pins are pretty easy to solder. Use a little sand paper and rough up the ends if you need to but even without doing that they solder just fine. It’s pretty much the same quality as the other stuff out there but with a lower price tag.
