Fantastic deal. All the Freak Bros comics ever made, rolled into one place. Most b&w, some glossy color. Tons of laughs. Lots and lots to read.

Funny from another age
No sure younger folk will get all the jokes, but those who do get them must really get along well with their parents and grandparents...

A classic from my childhood, with material I had never seen before!
I know what you're thinking... What sort of childhood did *this* guy have?! Well, to be honest, my older brother had a stack of FFBros comics, and I used to sneak them out of his room and I read them all. Many many times. This time around, I read them with an incredible sense of nostalgia. Creator, Gilbert Shelton, remains one of my favorite artists. His writing, his drawings, and his humor are all a part of that art. This compendium is THE tome for all fans of the furry and fabulous trio! And, of course, Fat Freddy's Cat!

Great collection!
I discovered this comic through Tubi and given that so many people said that the original were the best, I figured I may as well give it a try. These comics are absolutely hilarious and it's interesting to see what they changed for the series. I'll just put it this way: the Tubi characters are far more cuddly and harmless than their comic counterparts. There are parts to the comic that are absolutely products of their time, I'll put it that way. There will be things that I suppose were funny back then, but aren't really funny nowadays. The other reason I got this collection was because my dad was a HUGE fan of the comics back in the day. As he put it, "any comic-loving hippie worth their salt had an issue or two on their table". When I presented him with this, he was pretty excited and started flipping through it immediately. Now as far as the collection itself goes, the print is decent enough but my biggest complaint is that the print is on the smaller side. I can read it, but I do recommend using a page magnifier to save your eyes. The book is already oversized, so I don't really know why they made the print so small. Annoying, but not enough to stop my father from enjoying it, though.Definitely worth getting if you're interested. I think this collects all of the comics and is the only one currently in print that's out there at this point in time.

Classic Shelton funny pages
If you were born after Gen X, just skip this. It's all terribly offensive and in bad taste. Let's just leave it at that.Don't mind me. I'm laughing at something else.

THE FABULOUS FURRY FREAK BROTHERS WARPED MY FRAGILE YOUNG MIND!
I was born in 1977 and thus was too young to have any first-hand experiences with the 60-70s youth/drugs counter-culture, but my parents were semi-hippies at the end of that era. I was probably only around 7 or 8 when I first got into and read my father's small collection of Rip-Off Press comics and loved every minute of them, though I didn't quite get all the jokes, I could infer enough. Profanity! Nudity! Drugs! An evil version of Garfield the cat! I've been a fan ever since. I never touch drugs myself, but why would I need to when I can get high on laughing from reading and rereading the misadventures of Fat Freddy, Phineas, and Freewheelin' Franklin?Once I learned of this product's existence I knew that I had to buy one for myself. But I let my dad read it first. He deserved it.

No way, my brutha - you got to buy your own!
I copped this book for my 20 y.o. nephew's Xmas gift. I felt it was time to give him a lil perspective on the times his father grew up in and how things really haven't changed. I got hip to Gilbert Shelton in the late 70's when I was in 11th grade. I was already hooked on National Lampoon because of the comics (remember Trots n Bonnie, Politeness Man, Dirty Duck). In my opinion, this stuff is pure Americana! Gilbert Shelton (Wonder Warthog, FFFB), Bobby London (Dirty Duck), Vaughn Bodé (Cheech Wizard), R Crumb (Mr. Natural), Robert Williams (Coochy Cooty), Clay Wilson (Checkered Demon), Spain (Road Vultures Gang), Larry Todd (Dr. Atomic), & the others should all be REQUIRED reading in college.About this book specifically - I didn't get to compare it with my copies of the actual comics, but it seemed to be a faithful, quality reproduction. I have a couple of other comic collections from this publisher and they seem do a good job with reproduction.I'll be getting a copy for myself soon, that's fo' sho!

Freak Brothers Omnibus
What a great book. All the freak brothers comix in one big lavish volume. If you are or ever were a Freak Brothers fan, look no further than this huge graphic novel. Never fear fat freddy's cat fans, he is included in this volume and just as funny as I remembered. What makes this so special,(to me at least) is the fact that these comics have been hard to come by and sorely missed. Not just for the gut busting hialrity they provide, at the antics this trio and thier cat get up to but that they bring me right back to the days, when I first picked up thier comics,in the 70's. It has 624 pages total and two sections in full color, on coated stock paper. The other pages are in black and white. There is a removable dust jacket which has a different illustration than the book cover(a coated stock paperback type cover)which is a nice touch. The only thing I would have done differently is to have the cover of each issue and then follow with that issues original stories in order. The way they set it up I'm not sure what order it is in. This may be nit picking but remember, I had the original issues.I highly recommend this. You will not be disappointed.

This stuff is hysterical!
As funny as the Freak Brothers were, what made us laugh even more back in the day was seeing how long it took before there was a dope joke in each story (usually it was only one panel). This collection is great, and I really liked Shelton's brief history of the strip at the end of the book. Just one small gripe - I wish the strips had been reprinted in chronological order (or in exact chronological order....there seems to be a rough grouping by era or year). Apart from that, I'd say light one up and start reading. Or just read them. They're conventionally funny by any yardstick.
