Great for learning.

Nice sample selections for a beginning young collector. Grandson is really ready to add ( and properly label) his own finds from my collection and the field. Good introduction.

Horrible product, looks nothing like the picture. When I opened the box, I could see the minerals where about half the size they are in the picture. Two of them are small slivers of the mineral. I would expect given the advertised picture that the minerals would be large enough to handle, they are not even large enough to be paperweights. Furthermore, the package was shipped damaged. The box was within a bubble wrapped envelope that was undamaged, so the damage on the box was done before shipping and the damaged product was shipped anyway without concern. I would recommend going elsewhere as this appears to be more of a gimmick than something worth anyone's time.

I purchased these for a homeschool class I teach and returned them. [I bought a different collection with 15 samples and a few nicer and larger sample minerals for my class]. The picture makes it appear that these samples will be larger but they were the same size or smaller than the sizes I received in a box with 15 minerals that was lower in price. The minerals are unlabeled and so small they were mixed up on receipt as they shifted during shipping etc. Also, the quality was low, either questionable that it was the actual mineral, or the mineral at issue was just a speck in a larger rock. Another review reports similar issues.

Identification of the minerals included depended on pictures on the cover; these were inadequate and did not match the actual items present. A few of the minerals seem to have a different item substituted. There was inadequate explaination of the items and variations that one might encounter. We bought it to test the minerals for a science fair project, so it still did what we needed it to, but we couldn't seem to depend on it as much as we would have liked.

These are nice, but the tray they come in is very flimsy.

I bought this for my grandson for Christmas. It was on his wish list. I was ok with buying rocks, but when I recieved them the box was very small. I will be sending this back, very disappointed! Now, I have to find something else for him. I don't recommend this!

Not the same size at all. Also when I opened my box one was missing and another one had something peeling off. Do not buy.
