Fender 990820004 Performance Series Instrument Cables (Straight-Straight Angle) for electric guitar, bass guitar, electric mandolin, pro audio

Great cable, have owned it for a few years now and no issues.

A couple years ago, I picked up one of these cables to go with a little Fender Champion guitar/bass amp that I had picked up so I could sharpen my skills at home. I hate the feeling of having a straight cable jut out of my bass (a Fender J), so I was happy to find this right-angle one that lets the cable sit flush with the front of the bass. I have had very good experience across a range of Fender's products since my parents bought me a Fender dreadnought guitar over 20yrs ago, so I had high hopes for this cable.Safe to say, it did not disappoint, and it is still going strong today. A few highlights:- The cable is very tangle-resistant and coils easily, and you can tell the outer shielding is made to last.- Both connectors are holding up great and do not show any signs of fraying. Granted, I am pretty gentle on my cables, but still - I've experienced poor quality-cables before, and this is not one of them.- Sound quality is also excellent, with no noticeable hiss or crackling that occasionally shows up in lower-quality cables.That said, if your guitar/bass has a front-facing jack, or you just prefer to have a cable that plugs into your instrument at a right angle, I can highly recommend this cable. While you may sometimes find yourself paying more for the name than the quality of a music instrument/accessory, that is not the case with this cable. It's a winner!

These cables are great. There is one crackle or hiss from a bad connection just good quality sound. Will purchase again.

Arrived on time, bought this to replace a thought to be dead cable only to find out that the input on my brothers amp is actually bad ironically the old cable died on his older amp so it wound up being a necessary purchase anyway :P I can say having heard him play with his old cable (when it was good) and this one the difference is immeasurably better I'm not sure if its just the thicker/better quality wires or plugs being used, or that his recent input jack repair on his guitar is the factor of this better sound either way its definitely worth it if need or want to get a better cord than a cheapo one.Pros:Arrived on timeIt's a thicker more sturdy feeling cable that doesn't feel like it will wear out anytime soonLooks really classy (if you have el cheapo equipment prepare to be embarrassed by this cable)Possibly delivers better audio to your amplifier (again not sure I'm not an electrician or musician)It's brand nameCons:Nothing that isn't super important I do wish that the cable had been packaged in shrink wrap or whatever that lightweight plastic is calledWill update to 5 stars in the future after it's been used frequently just to make sure its gonna last awhile

Hand many cables over the years that did not hold up, have had some that are still going strong. I had another Fender with the fabric weave type sheath that barely lasted. This one looked good on screen and the price and rating were good so gave it a try. So far so good, seems well made and I like the thicker rubbery outer jacket. The fact that the jacks are fully sheathed means the jack covers done come loose. I would not be able to tell if the sound is better or worse than more expensive cables. I lean towards the notion that higher priced cables that folks think sound better are more marketing than actual performance. These newer design Fender cables appear to be that kind of product that performs well and offered at a fair price. Pretty good deal, if not a monster deal....
