Heartwarming & gives Hope!
Bought the book for my daughter, who has a child with autism. She has thanked me repeatedly for it & it has given her a ray of hope to meet her child where he is while detoxing from heavy metals.

Prosper
I recently learned that Prosper means to go forward with hope. This book gives me that much needed hope. Being a parent to a special needs child can seem overwhelming, heavy, lonely and discouraging at times. Finding other people and families that believe in a greater future is so inspiring. Here is to a prosperous future my family and yours.

Must Read
This is a powerful book for your collection and is genuinely a must read for any parent, caregiver, teacher, therapist, everyone really. The concept is so basic that it’s amazing that it hasn’t caught on sooner. Having intuitively parented with these principles prior to hearing of the program, this book offered me a lightbulb moment. I can now easily explain why what we do works. Is it slightly against the grain of what we think we know as a society? Yes. This is one of many reasons why it works. Open your mind, lead with your heart and allow your child to reach you. Most important takeaway? Please, please stop discouraging self stimulatory behaviors. You may not yet understand them, but your ASD loved one most certainly does. Stimming is essential and serving many essential needs. I implore you to read this and simply give it a whirl. The results will amaze you, for it can be no other way. Your child or loved one profoundly wishes to communicate with you. They already are. If they are non verbal, you essentially have someone who doesn’t have English as a first language. Would you be respectful and courteous to a foreigner? I hope so. Would you learn some of their words and customs while offering to teach them yours? Yes?Then you can reach your child using that same basic principle. Don’t believe the hype out there, it’s largely based on misinformation. Try this instead and watch your child rise.

Hope
I chose this rating for many reasons. I was able to easily read and understand what the author was communicating, so I appreciated the writing style. This is such a difficult subject to read about. Maybe a reader is in denial and the characteristics shared of the autism spectrum gets it right in their face if their child has the same characteristics. Or, maybe the reader has already broken through the denial, and has grieved the loss of expectations of the child's independent future being a productive member of society. This book gives hope---that this grief could possibly be the only destroyer of these parental dreams and expectations for their kid. There is hope the journey will make whatever the outcome a loving family of close connections, happy in their lives together.

Life changing for a parent of an autistic child!!!
I vaguely remember watching part of this movie as a child. The mother in the movie was teaching a small child that was rocking back and forth. Who knew that this was a true story and that the child later graduated from Brown University? Now I have an autistic child of my own. Finding this book was part of the beginning of my own journey. I have removed my son from a public school-based preschool. Now I teach him at home for hours each day. It is not always easy. I am only a few months into my own Son-Rise program, but my son's eye contact has greatly improved. His affection has also increased and his use of speech for communication. The school wanted him to use the picture method instead of language. Most importantly I now I have hope for my son's future. Thank you Barry and Samahria Kaufman for paving the way.

Love the story
Love the story, love the narrative. Some times Mr. K is a bit to wordy and flowery (like he's writing prose) for a basic historical event. Overall the book events these parents went through are amazing and inspirational.

Must read for any parent or caregiver of a special needs child
Beautiful. A must read for any parent with a special needs child. Place this approach above all others (I am a physician, we have traveled far and wide and pursued numerous treatments extensively for my son). My regret is not reading this book sooner.

Son-Rise The Miracle Continues
Spedizione arrivata in tempo. Il librio usato era realmente in ottime condizioni, sembrava nuovo, solo una scritta fatta in matita sul dorso interno del libro, ma niente di rilevante. Fornitore serio e raccomandabilissimo.
