Looking for a blending sponge? LOOK NO FURTHER!
If you're anything like me, you care about your make up not looking caked on and fake. I'm relatively new to the latest makeup trends, but it became very evident to me that a blending sponge is a must have in the daily essentials kit. I'm also the type of online shopper who reads the reviews before making a purchase, especially when it comes to something that is going to touch my face. The RT sponge is just wonderful! Allow me to break it down for you:First, let's talk price: In comparison to the BeautyBlender (because I'm sure you know about it) this sponge is significantly less expensive, I believe the BeautyBlender hovers around $20 where the RT sponge was just under $10. Don't be fooled however, the RT sponge may be short on cash, but it is not short on performance.Size: The RT sponge is rather large, about the size of a small(er) lemon. However, the size assures you that you will get optimum coverage, and I think contributes to the flawless finish.Material: The material of the RealTechniques Sponge reminds me of a memory foam pillow. It's soft to the touch and smooth on the skin. Simply wonderful. The sponge does expand some when it is wet, but not too much. For me, it was just enough! Wetting the sponge contributes to the dewey look I prefer, a vibrant, fresh skin, natural look. One thing I have to say about the RT sponge is it seems to hold water a bit. This isn't a terrible thing, I'd simply recommend allowing it to dry overnight (after cleaning) if you need to use the sponge dry.Shape: The sponge is shaped like a lemon, with one flat, angled edge. The rounded edges are great for blending in foundation on the cheeks or larger areas, where the flat edge is perfect for blending in concealer or areas around the eyes and nose. There's a pointed tip at one end, which is suggested for blending in blemish control (small precise spots). In regard to some of the negative reviews, I can see how the edges of the sponge may fray with a significant amount of use, however, I think it's all about how well you treat your sponge. If you leave it laying around, or banging in the bottom of your cosmetic case, it's going to rip. If you keep it safely in your beauty bag, I think the lifespan of this sponge could really surprise you.All in all, this sponge seems to be fantastic,it really does deliver a flawless finish.L

A Great Contender in the Makeup Sponge Arena!
I love my Real Techniques sponge. I have this, a Beauty Blender, and a Sigma kabuki brush and full brush set. I love my Sigma brushes, I love my Beauty Blender, but I'm always reaching for my Real Techniques sponge. As other reviewers and makeup mavens have mentioned this is an excellent dupe for the Beauty Blender. They are both incredibly soft and springy . I have noticed that the Beauty Blender is slightly less rigid, smaller, and expands more when wet in proportion to it's original size. I think this is because the construction of the Beauty Blender has more air pockets which allows for better water absorption. This might be why some people find the Real Techniques sponge uses a little more product.. After using both multiple times with the same products I have not noticed a difference in the quality of my finished makeup and haven't seen a huge difference in the amount of product used. I don't think the differences between the beauty blender and the RT sponge warrant such a large price gap. In terms of quality I think that the RT sponge is a steal for the price.I reach my RT sponge more often than my brushes because it's really easy to use. I can use one tool to apply my foundation, concealer, cream blushes, and even set my eye makeup with powder. If you're a fan of the snooze button like me and need to simplify your makeup routine, this is a great option.I reach for it more often than my Beauty Blender simply because it is less expensive. If my nails are on the longer side I reach for this one because I'm not as afraid that I will puncture of tear it. It's also my go to travel sponge because it's not as big of a deal if I lose it. I don't feel as "bad" using it because it's very affordable.I bought this in May 2016 and months later it still looks and feels great.

Works better than high-end brands
I love these things. I’ve purchased many over the years less expensive than other make up stores and great value for your money is great. Definitely don’t hesitate to purchase.

This one works the best!
This works the best! I’ve tried so many sponges but this one is the best by far. I use this to apply my liquid foundation. It’s easier to grip than the small triangle sponges and it does leave streaks.

So soft! Love it!!
I love this makeup/ foundation sponge! It’s much more absorbent and soft than previous sponges I’ve tried. The shape is awesome, too. It comes smaller, but once you wet it and squeeze out the water, it gets big (like on the left). The best that I’ve ever purchased- and I’ve tried ALOT through the years!

Works great
Works very well. I have never used a beauty blender so I can't compare the two. I use it to apply my liquid foundation by pouring it onto the sponge and then contour my face. it blends the light and dark into a smooth seamless look easily and does not soak/pick up too much of the makeup. When finished with my makeup I spray my face with Skindanavia setting spray (also good) and when that dries I use the sponge to dab all over my face as a final smooth look. It looks good and I have crappy skin. I only give four stars because it is difficult to get clean. Takes a lot of shampoo to get out the stains. I don't want to scrub too hard for fear of tearing the sponge, as it feels so light and delicate - but I guess that is what makes it a good sponge.UPDATE:: I purchased a Beauty Blender sponge.. The Real Techniques sponge is good but there is a noticeable difference. I prefer the beauty blender. It soaks up less makeup, the texture of the sponge is smoother and it blends smoother and faster. It also cleans soooooo much easier. If you don't want to spend 18+ dollars than the RealTecniques is a good second best (but get it from Sephora, it's only $5) otherwise spend the extra bucks for a superior sponge..

Super Nice
I use this dry for my water based foundation and it works amazingly. I love that the bottom is flat so I can go over larger areas. It doesn't soak up all my product either which is my favorite. I will definitely continue to buy these.
