Omg, just buy it!
Okay, so the last 6 months or so I was beginning to believe that the reason my hair and skin sucked was because I was now 30 and was starting to decompose. I have spent $100's on products and treatments for my thick, slightly wavy, fine hair that has been frizzy, dry, breaking and as my hairdresser put it: "chewy". I have spent even more $100's on skin care products to treat the post-pubescent acne and flaky dry, red patches that I was getting. Finally, I wondered....what about the water? My bf thought I was overreacting and getting all OCD about the next thing or "fad" to invest in, but I wanted to try it out anyway, even it was just to eliminate that factor altogether for the sake of my sanity. After grueling research on what to look for when buying a water filtation apparatus, reading hundreds of reviews on different brands, models etc., I finally resolved on this Culligan shower head and model.Upon receiving it, I couldn't wait to use it. Mind you, my bf still thought I was crazy. Today I installed it and used it. So did he. We LOVE it!!!!!!!!Installation was a breeze, getting it out of the package was not. It has one of those blister pack "they do not want you to actually open it" packaging. After I finally freed the shower head and filter I was happy to find a clear, concise, informative instruction pamphlet along with the Teflon tape.It was really easy to install. I didn't quite get down the 5 different spay settings yet, but again, I've only used it once o far.The difference was noticeable right away. The water felt indescribably cleaner. My skin didn't sting after shaving (I have really sensitive skin and even the gentlest razor irritates my skin). My hair felt like the products I was using was actually doing their job. When I got out of the shower the first thing I noticed was that my face was bright, clear, and not the usual red, blotchy mess it has been lately after showering. My arms and my legs felt like they haven't felt in a long time...ridiculously butter-soft. I didn't have to struggle to get product evenly distributed through my hair or to get a comb through it (I'm assuming that's the "chewiness").As it dried it was completely frizz free and insanely shiny. The real test was the blow dryer.Lately after blow drying, my hair has felt fried and crunchy, and has looked dull, damaged and sad. This day...today...it was luminous, soft and looked like it does the 24 hours after leaving your salon. It's totally the water! My bf thought that I was still crazy because he thought that an immediate difference couldnt be a possibility, but then he took a shower...Since I was out, he text me raving about it!! His hair is indeed noticeably shinier, softer and healthier looking in general. He now wants me to replace every faucet for a filtered one!!!The moral of the story is that this shower head is awesome and you're insane not to buy it. Even if you don't want this one, get a different one. No one should have to shower in water that is slowly poisoning us. It's so obvious to me now just how harmful these things are to humans.I am so glad I bought this and will recommend getting a filteration device to everyone I know. It's worth every single penny (even with the maintenance of replacing the filter every 6 months). Just buy it already!!

Excellent Product. Restored My Hair!
I've had this shower head for six months now and it's one of the best things I've bought for myself. My baby fine hair, which is normally shiny and soft, started feeling crunchy and just... weird. It wouldn't lay right and I had noticed more of it falling out in the shower. After spending hundreds on hair care products that didn't work, I realized it might be my water. I bought one of these and installed it easily (the hardest part was removing the old shower head, which I did end up needing a wrench to do). I tried, but failed, to remove the flow restrictor before installation. Luckily I had no issue with water pressure even with the restrictor still attached.I could tell a difference during the first shower. Not long after, my hair was soft and healthy again! It also dramatically reduced the hard water buildup on my curtain liner and tub. The effectiveness of this filter is based on what you're trying to filter out, but it has worked perfectly for my hard water issue.Recently I started noticing a bit more hair falling out and more hard water buildup. I didn't realize it had been six months already, so I'm back to purchase a replacement filter. I had intended to check the filter before the six month mark, but time got away from me. So, I guess it did hold up for that long! Seeing what happens when it's time for a filter replacement really reinforces what a big difference the filter makes.

Improves water quality, but improving water hardness depends
This showerhead reduces chlorine, but does not improve all types of hard water -- it depends. I do really like it, though -- it was easy to install, looks nice, works well, and is affordable. As for its filtering abilities, I used two water testing kits immediately after I installed it. Following all the instructions carefully, I first tested the water coming from the bathtub spigot directly below the new showerhead: the results showed high amounts of chlorine in the water, plus very hard water. Then I tested the water from the new showerhead: the results showed that the chlorine, while still present, was noticeably reduced, but there was no change in the hard water reading. However, the test kits I used (Malibu C) do not test for all types of hard water minerals -- they only test for calcium and magnesium (in addition to the chlorine test), so it is possible that this showerhead is reducing other minerals such as iron, which would explain why some reviewers said their hard water got better and/or their rust stains stopped. This showerhead is also supposed to filter out other "bad stuff," too. All I know is that it has definitely reduced the chlorine, as shown by my test results. And, my hair is looking and feeling better, but I must say that at the same time I got the showerhead, I started doing other things to improve my hair and remove hard water mineral build-up (chelating treatment, clarifying shampoo, vinegar rinse, etc.), so I cannot say that it's due entirely to the showerhead, but I do believe it is helping! I've had it just over a month now, so I haven't changed the filter yet, but from installing the first one, it should be easy to do, and also affordable. Also note, I have old plumbing so I was worried about getting other types of showerhead filters which looked bulky and heavy, so this one was perfect, as it is normal sized and not too heavy. As for the different flow settings, I tried them all out, but then I just left it on the "normal" setting and I don't move it; I did notice the grip for changing the settings was a little hard to turn. As for the width of the water spray, it seems perfectly fine to me, and is just as wide if not wider than my old showerhead (a Teledyne WaterPik Shower Massage). Oh, and the water pressure is great, no changes or problems there. All in all, I think it's worth trying!
