I love thermse washers. I use them all the time to secure plaster.

these washers work great when supporting old plaster ceilings.

It's as advertised, comfortably fits up to a #10 screw through the middle hole (1/4" tapcons fit as well with a bit of fiddling).

Decent quality product and works. You can counter bore the plaster with a modified wood spade bit to install them below the surface. I wash them in a container I can shake to remove any trace oil a few times.I pull off any reaIly bad plaster with my hands. I install them on both sides of any cracking in plaster ever 4-5 inches and one on each end. I vee out the cracks and paint "plaster weld" on the ceiling to improve bonding and reduce friability (slight crumbliness). I then fill the holes with durabond 90 or other similar joint compound product. My understanding is usg durabond 90 is tougher but harder to sand vs usg easy sand. Then skim coat with a product recommended for skimming. I have a ceiling over I year ago I did with no further cracking.They now sell plaster washers at lowes that are thinner and therefore easier to cover over. They also contain more holes.Overall a pretty decent product.

They are filthy, covered in a gray, oily, soot. I was concerned the oil covering these washers might deter adhesion by the scratch coat or worse yet, bleeding into the brown coat. Just touching then leaves your hands an oily mess. I washed them in gasoline, what a PITA, gas turned black-gray. Then rinsed them in soapy water. Last time I bought Rodenhouse washers. Clean, np. Wouldn't buy these again.

Was just what I was looking for. Shipment and service was exceptional. Myself, Archetict and Engineer were amazed at how well they worked.

Good product, great price. It seems that I always need more of these than I think I will use so this time I ordered 1000 of them and am glad that I did. The only product recommendation I have to improve these washers is to have a few more holes to allow more new plaster to squeeze through. I prefer these larger 1-1/4" washers over the 1"; it makes it less likely that they will pull completely through the plaster.
