Will this fit a Tripp Trapp that I bought new in 2007?

I have Tripp Trapp chairs from the early to mid 90's and the Baby Set does not fit. The seat back slides on the back slats but the front wrap around does not fit between the back slats or snap into the seat hole. My daughter was hoping to use her childhood chairs for her new baby.

Do young toddlers (my child is 18 months and on the small side) need the baby set, or are they fine just using the regular harness in the highchair?

My son is 18 months and continues to use the baby seat (he has always used the baby set). He has now figured out how to get his arms out of the straps so I would not feel comfortable having him sitting in the high chair without the baby set.
