I believe I was more excited about it than they were. I bought it for when they come to work with me to occupy their time for a while, but unfortunately it's not hours of fun unless there's still treats hiddens. Nonetheless I think they enjoyed hunting around for the treats. Good thing I make their treats because I can see this getting a bit pricey.

What a great invention! My dog starts to drool when I pick this up to hide bits of treats or dry dog food within it. She sniffs and hunts and loves finding the food/treats. I've used it now for several months and it's been very durable. I can throw it in the washer with towels and it comes out clean and ready to use. I do not put it in the dryer for obvious reasons - the back is made of plastic. I hang it to dry. It's used at least three or four times a week. It's a great toy!

The item is well made. I use small treats and they rarely fall through. It washes well. My little mini schnauzer gets so excited when I take it off the shelf - she loves the "hunt."I saw a snuffle mat in a dog training facility and thought, "I have lots of fleece, I'll just make one." Ha! The mat that forms the base of this item is only sold in packs of 10, they aren't cheap, and I have no need for the other 9. Factor in the time and tedium involved in threading and tying hundreds of strips of fleece, and I might save money, but the effort would be significant. So I judge this item to be well worth the price.

This type of item was referred to on the AKC website as a great interactive toy for dogs. We own two small puppies (5 mos old) and we thought this would be a great rainy day activity. Within 30 minutes of giving it to them, they found all the treats we hid - they had a great time. The negative, they undid several of the ties. These ties are not secure, they are laced through a plastic hole and tied once. I was concerned about this but the reviews were so good that I got excited. After spending this much money, the toy is either for the dust bin or I need to sit down and figure out how to knot every single one of the ties to prevent this from happening again. It also says it can be washed...huh, wonder how that will work with a plastic back in the washer; not sure it should go in the dryer and can't imagine how long it will take to dry. I'm sorry I bought it.

My pup loves this fun little snuffle mat. Keeps him busy longer than any of the puzzles. He is only 8 lbs so he goes at it full face in!
