No Rodent Problems Since Installed!
The Loraffe Underhood Repeller was easy to install and I have had no critter problems on my vehicles since installation--which is more than I can say before I tried this solution to keep mice and chipmunks at bay! While there is not a way for me to prove the Loraffe units are the reason for no critters gnawing on my vehicles, I can tell you that I have seen mice at a gas station trash can scatter like they were on a sinking ship shortly after shutting my car off to fuel up one night as the Loraffe unit automatically turned on after car motion stopped. It was not only comical, but indicated to me the Loraffe Repeller does indeed repel!

Works Fine
I have yet to see a mouse return to our engine bay, so will say it works. Nice that it is wired too, no need to worry about batteries going dead. Easy to install and wire if you're handy. I used a spare positive post on the fuse box, and the negative ground lug where you would attach jumper cables. The lights blink all of the time, so you can tell when its on. The on off switch is easy to locate and use too, so you can turn it off when your car is in a more secure area. Note - it does use your car's battery power. Not really an issue for a few days but for long term use you could consider keeping your car on a battery charger or tender.

Squirrels begone!
I have a 2018 car which came with Subaru’s Eyesight safety features …and soy-based wiring harness coverings. I live next to a National Forest which comes with all kinds of wildlife, especially squirrels. Squirrels seem to love the taste of soy-based products, even electrical wiring. After replacing the car’s wiring harness TWICE in 3 months ($900 each time), I bought this rodent deterrent, and connected it to my car’s battery. I have to take off one star because its fuse holder was sub-standard and had to be replaced, but after that, in the last year-and-a-half there has been NO squirrel damage. The device does not drain the car battery, and is weatherproof. I love it! Great value for the money doesn’t even begin to cover it.

My car battery died. [EDIT] And then my brand new battery died in 17 days.
I had roadside assistance come out this morning because not only did my trunk stop opening a few days ago, but my car as of today wouldn't start. Considering my last two trips to the shop for expensive rodent repair before purchasing this device, I thought either 1) the shop must have not fixed all the wires and the frayed ones finally died or 2) the device wasn't doing its job and rats were still chewing through the wires. With a quick jump, the car immediately started right up. The tech said that the car (small crossover suv) takes 12V to start and it was at 11.2V. Meanwhile, the device was still flashing away under the hood. Without turning the car off, I went straight to the auto store down the road and installed a new battery. The car starts and the trunk opens. Do NOT trust this device to stop drawing charge from the poor battery prior to your car not starting.[EDIT]At the end of the original review, I had purchased a brand new DieHard Platinum battery. A week or two later, the same issues crept back in (car struggled to start, trunk wouldn't open, etc.). It took only 17 days for this device to kill a brand new battery. I just got it back from the dealer service center and they ran diagnostics and charged it up and said that the battery is not holding a charge and needs to be replaced. I'm back to the drawing board for the rats, but I do not recommend this device to anyone unless your goal is to kill a battery.

Value For The Money
Rodents started chewing on the soy-based insulation of my vehicle wiring in the Fall of this year (2020). I had the wiring damage repaired at a cost of $312.48. Two weeks prior to the repair work, I received the Under Hood Animal Repeller Model ZN-508 & installed it. The repair facility stated that there was no additional damage since the initial diagnosis, which coincided with the installation of the Animal Repeller. I would say that was attributable to the effectiveness of the Animal Repeller. I immediately reinstalled the Animal Repeller once the repair work was completed & have not seen any evidence of rodents chewing on the wiring, which has been about a week. I am completely satisfied with the product, & considering that the cost of the device was only $23.98, I would say the value for the extremely reasonable price is exceptional. The product is of acceptable quality, the instructions were clear & concise, & the installation was reasonably easy. I am hoping the Animal Repeller will keep me from having any additional issues or expenses in regard to rodents chewing on the wiring. When my current Animal Repeller wears out at some point in the future, which I realistically expect to happen, I will definitely be ordering a Loraffe replacement.

Good investment!
Easy to install. Time will tell if they work. Beats paying $2500.00 for a replacement wiring harness!

Bye-bye mice ?
Made this purchase for use in my motorhome during outdoor winter storage. The installation process was terrible! The unit should have alligator clips to simplify the install process. Finally did get it installed-- now we wait and see if it truly scares away rodents as stated in the company's written statement.
