We live off the grid in a dry cabin. We use a 55 gal barrel (filled with water) and attached this pump. We did the same in the greenhouse. They work excellent for us. Easy to install, comes completely assembled, extremely excellent quality, I’ve had the 1 st one we bought over 15 years. Highly recommended.

Bought this last year and got it going in case power went out and what do you know we lost power for week on hurricane Helen. Was thankful we had it.

I bought this to sit on top of a whiskey barrel that covers my well pump. It is a heavy, solid cast item painted the perfect red. I get a lot of compliments. I did not ever intend to use it as a pump, so I cannot comment on its mechanical capabilities.

Used it *once* just to validate operation yesterday. Worked fine.Today, I went to use it but it wouldn't function. I looked under the bottom and the nut and washer had fallen off or the leather check (flapper) valve. So, now I have pump pieces down my well...not good!This would not have happened if the manufacturer had used even a single drop of thread lock during the assembly process.Update: I got a matching nut out of my shop and found out that the original screw only had three threads exposed when I pieced it back together and no imprint that a backing washed had ever been installed (even if there *had* been enough thread showing). Just three threads showing is insufficient for a good attachment.Sending it back because they are just using my time to fix their problem.

It's a nice pump but the base leaks. It's gasket is not very quality. But it looks very nice.

Sturdy, looks very grand.
