Q: Does anyone know if this product was tested on animals?

This is no longer true, at least regarding the Dove brand, which is not sold in China. Though parent company Unilever does test on animals for other brands that they sell in China as required there.

Q: How would this affect my beard if it gets into it while cleaning my face?

Yes, rinse and rinse well. Try not to get put it on too thick or else it will foam up in your beard when you comb it after a shower if you do not rinse it all out.
