Q: How long is this. Looking for a float that fits a 7’ tall guy.

His legs will hang over if he lays down. He can sit in it like an arm chair with no problem. Or float on it with no problem

Q: What is the diff between the medium and xl versions - just the length of the mesh that join the floats? are the inflatable bits larger on xl?

Going only according to the one I have...My head is on one end and the bottom float is under my knees, not my feet and I don't have as much width around my head and body. (Surprisingly had mine for over a year and used it for the first time just today.) It works well. I have a back yard inflatable pool and I was SO relaxed on mine. I love it. Lite weight, easy to carry to different water locations. (I am not a skinny person and it held my weight well.)
