My little Frenchie didn't even want to wait for me to cut off the hang tag! She jumped up & snatched it out of my hand, hahaha!

Ode to the Elephante
This thing is incredible!! When we purchased this toy (dubbed "the elephante" - pronounced ella-fawn-tay) for our 8 week old labrador puppy, we had no idea that this silly little pink elephant would capture our hearts (and save our wallets) for months to come. Our sweet little puppy, now nearly 7 months old (and going through puberty - thanks, hormones), has been through more toys than your single mother. But this elephante is still alive! There isn't a single rip or tear or hole with stuffing spilling out anywhere! It's INCREDIBLE! We have tried other Kong toys, some stuffed and some hard and rubbery, and yet none can compare to the sheer awesomeness of the elephante. Let me break this down for you - we have a LABRADOR. She chews like no body's freakin' business. It's ridiculous how much this dog has destroyed since being with us. We kind of hate her. But she's our baby - so we love her. But anyway, I digress...this dog chews. And this silly pink elephante is still alive...that's INCREDIBLE. It used to be as big as she was - and now she's over 60 pounds and the elephante is itty bitty. And no matter how much she chews, slobbers, and tugs on it, it is STILL ALIVE!! My husband just pointed out, "The elephante is down a tail." Okay, other than the tail - and the possible loss of a rear left leg, this thing is still INCREDIBLE. And that's it - that's all we have to say about that.

Can't Keep A Dog Toy?
Don't need a video to praise this item...Bought it a number of times...Why? Did it fail? Nope...after a period of time my dog gets it totally sloppy and grungy but the toy hangs in there...Plus I have gifted it a number of times to fellow dog owners after I hear them complain that their Fido is a destroyer of ALL dog toys...We call ours "Elfie" cause I think it looks like a deformed elephant...Buy it...You will like it and your dog will LOVE it!

Favorite of my dog among the stile available for this product.
Most of theses are great for my dog. He could have been named "THE DESTROYER" of toys - and only toys. Not once a shoe, cable, furniture .. anything.HOWEVER - there is a always a Plush Animal CRIME SCENE in my home. Typical. cheap ones, under 2 minutes MAX.These KONG ones can last a while.BUT THE PINK!!! I don't know why, it was an extra extra LOVE of this one for my "destroyer" Since he is color blind (he is dog) it is the texture, sound of squeak and softness overall I think that gets him so excited.Just glad there is no NCIS Muppet Department. No tech or dna. My home, especially living room is a wasteland of destroyed plus dog toys (picking up is fine - but it never works. It is plush everywhere (except still inside the toys I give him.

Cute, vibrant, firm, high quality
By total coincidence, or maybe dogs are secretly smarter than we give them credit for, my 14lb chihuahua-rat terrier mix always claims the elephant toys as his own so even though my 3 dogs share toys, we've continued to call the elephant toys "his" over the years. I bought KONG's "Elmer" to add to his little elephant collection and he loves it. The stuffing is firm and the fur isn't too thin or easily ripped off. I don't let him chew heavily on stuffed toys, but he holds them and tosses them all around the house and this shows no sign of wear after plenty of play time with it. I imagine it would hold up to a little bit of chewing by a small dog. There is only one squeaker (in the butt of the elephant) and it's not easy for my small dog to squeak, so he frantically squeezes it with his mouth after seeing me squeak it- he never quite reaches it, but that's okay. It keeps him busy.

Could last forever if you can sew.
Our 1 yo Jack/Chihuahua/Pom mix loves these Kong Cozies; they're her favorite toys and she is an active chomper. We now have 3 of them: elephant, alligator, and rhino. They've held up far better than any of her non-Kong squeakers, which usually bite the dust in about a week. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that both the elephant and rhino opened right up along the belly seam within hours of receiving them. Once sewn back up with more secure hand-stitching, we've never had another issue with them. I suspect the center seam just doesn't get reinforced properly - 2 out of 3 for me might indicate a common manufacturing flaw, so don't be surprised if this happens to you. In our experience the rest of the animals' bodies are exceptionally well-constructed. The alligator has survived kidnapping/being buried in the woods/getting dug back up months later and returned by a buddy - after a quick wash it was as good as new. As long as you're handy with a needle and thread, I recommend these without hesitation.

Heavier duty than most plush toys, will stand up to moderate chewing
My pooch is the happy owner of Marvin the Moose and now Elmer the Elephant as well.My dog is a moderate-heavy chewer - for frame of reference, just this week she's decimated a feather pillow, backpack and a remote control :(She's a big fan of destroying toys with squeakers especially and while these are far from indestructible, they hold up about as well as any plush toy we've ever had. We've had Marvin for about 6 months and he's only been sewn back to together twice. This is frankly amazing as most plush toys at this price point are shredded beyond repair within a week or so. Elmer appears to be of similar quality. After a week or so, his ears have been significantly reshaped but overall he is holding up extremely well.I would definitely recommend these - they appear to all be of similar quality, so if your pet is a heavy chewer, buy the animal that's on sale...lol.
