Avantree DG80 - Bluetooth 5.3 Adapter for PS5 & Gaming Consoles with Low Latency & aptX-Adaptive, Wireless Audio Transmitter for Headphones & Earbuds

Very clever bit of kit - acts like a virtual sound card while connecting to your Bluetooth headphones/speakers etc. I've tried this with several headphones including Sony 1000XM3s streaming audio from a Linux box (Mint 20.3) and an Asus Chromebook. Each instantly recognised the DG80 and routed audio to it. Pairing with the phones is quite easy, but use a different set and you need to reset the DG80.Sound quality - it is clearly better than the inbuilt Bluetooth chips in my machines. So much so that flac files sound better than 320k mp3s and, just as importantly, it removes the lag between audio and video on iPlayer, Netflix and any video files - no lip sync problems with this.Range - much better and more stable than inbuilt chips when used in my house.Conclusion - if sound quality, range and audio-video synchronisation matter to you, this transmitter is worth the outlay.

Super easy to set up (just make sure you turn BT off on your phone). The sound quality is awesome when playing my PS5 and the noise cancelling on the airpods still works too so its perfect for single player gaming. The reason I've only given 4 stars is that if you change to chat mode the game sound takes a heavy hit on quality. But again if you just want to play games in a little bubble of undisturbed comfort then this is a definite buy

This is such a great device. Really good range, links to my headphones in about 2 seconds, and very low latency. If you want to use Bluetooth headphones with a PS5, I don't think you will be disappointed.

I received one but and it’s connecting to my speaker but no audio comes out of my speaker and my speaker is perfectly fine

[EDIT]They died after a month - so returned for a refund. But as a result, I discovered my old Bluetooth transmitter/receiver works with my hearing aids. I think any device that handles the Bluetooth connection itself - rather than offloading to the PC - might have a better chance of connecting reliably.This adapter worked perfectly with my Phonak hearing aids on Linux where other "normal" USB dongles failed. The only downside is that the aids can only connect to one device at a time so if I need to use the phone I have to unplug the DG80. Avantree support advised me to get a USB hub with on/off power switches. I've done this - it means more cables but now I can switch between PC and phone a little easier.Also a little pricey but it has good support so I guess that's reflected in the cost.

I bought this USB Bluetooth adapter to play a 3D sound with my PS5. I'm using Bose Q35 II with it and the first game I've tested was Dead Space Remake. The sound quality went through the roof, I could hear all the sounds coming not only from left and right but also top and bottom.The connection is very easy to setup and once done it's automatic when the headphones are on. The headphones connect after one second which is amazing when compared to the same thing on my phone.I can only recommend this USB adapter to anyone looking for 3D sound with their PS5, without investing into crappy Pulse 3D headphones.:)

My son connected his Sony MX4's and it all worked really well with his PS5.Once connected he had the option to setup 3d audio. He was really impressed.Not sure if the mic was setup incorrectly but he was using the mic from the controller but I am sure it would work fine with the headset with a little tweaking.Definitely worth it.
